AVAM is the official national museum and education center for self-taught, intuitive artistry. 3 renovated historic industrial buildings house wonders created by farmers, housewives, mechanics, retired folk, the disabled, the homeless, & the occasional neurosurgeon – all inspired by the fire within!
This new age art museum has bunch of young artist doing a more 3-d effect on art. It had a nice gift shop with tons to choose from. 3 floors and another separate area. Cost 14$ def do once
The exhibits change out periodically but I highly recommend getting a docent to hear the interesting backstories of the artists. By far one of my top two favorite museums in Baltimore.
AVAM is fully dedicated to untrained artists. Thursdays in the Summer are “free flick on the hill” nights! Plus free admission to AVAM the 2 hours before and during the movie!
The first Saturday in May, AVAM holds the Kinetic Sculpture Race. Daring souls race their peddle-powered creations around the city and into the Harbor. Not to be missed!
Amazing museum! The ship made of toothpicks is one of the most creative, interesting, FANTASTIC piece of art I've ever seen!
You never know what to expect at the AVAM. Discover a shady nook in the sculpture garden, then browse through artsy treasures at the gift shop, Sideshow. See more: http://bsun.md/b3sf7y

Go for the fun! The current exhibits will have you laughing! Also, if you go with a Bank of America card on the first weekend of the month...its free.
I have been to many art museums... Love the creativity and whimsy of the AVAM. Great way to introduce grown up museums to children. So much eye candy.
Don't come here when you're tripping. Very, very trippy place. It'll either be the best trip ever or your worst nightmare.
Absolutely no photography allowed inside the buildings. You are free to photograph the exterior artwork and sculptures.
Amazing! Fabulous exhibit and quirky gift shop. Some original work available too
Great for a date. Interesting stories behind incredibly unique and creative art of all types.
Cool things to see but its really a quick walk through and not really worth it in my opinion.
