I went with a large group and discovered the service was impeccable! The Mac and Cheese with the fried chicken and fried whiting were delicious!! Topped off with the Banana Pudding, our meal was great

Seated in 15 minutes and served in about the same amount of time. Amazing for such a popular spot. First time? Try the Sharpton. Sweet tea is delicious. Corn bread amazing. Can't wait to go back.

Oh my god, the best friday I've had in a Long time, why? I did nothing, except go to the best soul food joint on 116th street. They don't deliver so order ahead and pick up or just go there order to g Read more

Cornbread is TO DIE FOR. Regular fried chicken & waffle was spectacular. Mashed potatoes and corn were delicious too. Sweet tea was perfectly sweet. Mac and cheese was actually a little disappointing!

After all the hype and press about this place, it was somewhat of a disappointment bland food very viny and stemy greens but the catfish was excellent and the mac & cheese was decent

Best house of chicken & waffles in the city (this is an urban take on southern soul food that originated in Harlem, where fried chicken, waffles, syrup, and hot sauce combine with awesome results).

You absolutely must get chicken and waffles when visiting Amy Ruth's. The Reverand Al Sharpton is my go-to. Read all about my visit on WinstonWanders below!! Read more

Chicken & Waffles is a Harlem specialty. Invented nearby. These folks will lead you to believe that they created it. Not true. Large portions for the church and family set. Sundays require patience.

Went home a happy camper after trying their delicious fried chicken. I was expecting a little more for the price, but the quality is there and the two sides that come with your order are huge!

    James Lee · March 10, 2013
  • Charles G.

Chicken was juicy and the waffle was amazing. Only criticism: the chicken skin was amazingly crunchy, I just wish it was a little more seasoned.

Brought an out of town friend here for some genuine soul food. Didn't disappoint! Service is friendly, the chicken sandwich I got was a little dry. Get the fried okra, it's amazing.

Try the Baked Macaroni & Cheese - This is really incredible. My favorite type of Mac and cheese ever - if you don't like the overly cheesy, runny kind, than you must try this.

    Mike Chau · December 21, 2013
  • Tai S.

The best chicken and waffles I ever had. The decor is relaxing. The music is on point (90's R&B). The macaroni and cheese was also good. The service is friendly.

Excellent and super friendly service. Smothered chicken and waffles are fantastic! Candied sweets are good. Sweet tea a bit too sweet but all in all a great eating experience.

Chicken and waffles are the go to here, but don't forget to order collard greens and Mac & Cheese. You will be in heaven.

The original supper clubs that invented chicken & waffles are no longer around, but Amy Ruth's is definitely the best example of Harlem style C&W in modern times.

I got the Barack Obama....smothered chicken, collard greens and mac n cheese. It was delicious! I also recommend the Half & Half (half lemonade + half iced tea)

    Miyoshi DeSouza · November 1, 2010
  • Didier D.

Despite being busy, service was friendly. Sides and drinks on the sweet side but good. You will definitely get the "itis"! Got the Obama (bbq) pretty good.

Chicken and waffles with gravy!! As a Brit I'd heard about this place and it was better than I'd imagined with friendly staff. The portions are huge but great

the best time to go would be on a weeknight (mon-thurs) around 9pm. otherwise be prepared to wait in line for hours! and yes, the food is THAT good.

Breakfast menu only before 11:30am. The Tommy Tomitas (fried wings & waffles) is good. Friendly service too :)

The food was good for what it was. Everything seemed to have too much sugar in it. From the cornbread to the Mac and cheese. -A Mississippi boy

Tourist trap but the food is still solid. Waffles, fried shrimp and mac and cheese are so good. Plus you can order kool aid with your meal!

You can't go wrong with their signature dish of chicken and waffles. My bf had the Obama dish and hated it. Greens and sweet potatoes were not good.

The smothered chicken and waffles (aka Rev. Al Sharpton) was by far the best chicken and waffles I've ever had!

Fried chicken wings are on point! Love the fried catfish, too. Collards and the fried okra are the two best sides. All fried everything!

Chicken and waffles were amazing. Candied yams were from a can and poorly doctored to taste like the real thing. Cornbread was delicious.

mashed sweet potatoes are good, but the "Guy Woods And Shay Barnett" is not as good as i thought, lot of pecans, but not a lot of bananas pieces
