For something "molto italiano", try the Spumoni, a wedge of tutti-frutti, lemon, and pistachio almond gelato, topped off with homemade whipped cream. Read more

Real deal, old school Italian sweets and gelato. Go for the Spumoni and then linger over a perfect espresso to listen to local gossip.

In the large cup they let you taste four favors so even if one is a dud you won't be disappointed! Zuppa inglese was my surprise favorite! Stracciatella and pistachio excellent as expected!

A New Orleans institution. Established in 1905 as a small ice cream stand in the French Quarter on Decatur by A. Brocato, an immigrant from Sicily. Its present location has existed since 1978.

The place to visit for dessert. The two I really liked were the cappuccino ice-cream cake, like a frozen cappuccino, and the torroncino, a hazelnut-and-almond semifreddo.

When Clemenza said "Leave the gun; take the cannoli," it was probably because they were from Brocato's. The best!
