Love this place!! Located so randomly in Chinatown but they have killer cocktails and live jazz sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays(with live burlesque), and Sundays. Go early or make rsvp-

Date Night Is... sinfully delicious cocktails in the midst of a see-and-be-seen crowd. Wander into the heard of Chinatown and seek out this gem by looking for the line outside. (Or just go early.)

the best bar i have been to in NYC so far! amazing live music Mondays. great cocktails and the vibe is amazing. bartenders may be quite slow though, but ut us worth the wait.

All the alcohol are chemical and all bartenders are in fancy lab coats. However we had a "deal closer" and got a "paid vacation". (Those are our drinks names, they are FANTASTIC)

I've got a new favorite speakeasy and you'll need a password to get in. Some of the best cocktails I've ever had and some amazing performances by the dancers and live band. Gotta do it.

Love coming here on Monday nights for live jazz with Chinatown Allstars. Their cover of "After You've Gone," (song from 1918) is amazing and true to the moment. You are being transported back in time!

Bartenders making cocktails for you wearing a lab coat. The interior is designed to make an impression: a chemist office with a hint of vintage luxe. Drinks are creative, so quirky, and for the brave

The drinks are amazing. The brass band that plays on Tues is too. The waitress has a hall monitor attitude. We saw her tap a bill reminding a couple to pay. She took a seat from the hands of a patron.

Coolest bar in NYC. Dim lighting, cool music, hip crowd full of energy and a long list of “prescriptions”, i.e. amazing cocktails to choose from! Try the Bees Knees and the Almond Old Fashioned. Read more

Turn down some seedy Chinatown streets to arrive at this hole in the wall. If there's a band playing consider yourself fortunate to be in a luxurious hidden bar in the greatest city in the world. 🎶

Everything was awsome about this place: funny guy at the entrance, life jazz, burlesque show, delicious cocktails (try "devil may care"👍🏻 ) handsome bartenders and the over all atmosphere. Love it!

I loved the speakeasy atmosphere. It makes you feel like you're doing something illegal! Order off of the menu and tell the bartender what you like and he'll whip something lethal up! I highly rec!

Check their fb page for Wednesday's "Prohibition Night" password (limited cocktails this night). Full 30+ cocktail menu avail all other nights of the week. Sunday's band, Live Footage, is the best!

This place is probably the best all-around 'speakeasy' style spot I've come across in NYC. Not overly pretentious, drinks are phenomenal & creative, & right around the block from great Chinese food!!

Classy place, but the cocktails have to be your style. Everything is a little too sweet to my liking. All the cocktails are clever, but I feel they miss the mark of highlighting the spirit itself.

Housed in a former opium den in an unsuspecting corner of Chinatown, finding this place can be a bit intimidating. But trust me, it's totally worth it. The elixirs are spectacularly creative.

This is my favorite speakeasy!!!! I encourage everyone to go here atleast once. Nice ambiance and the decor is like an old school apothecary hence the name. Drinks are awesome and the scene is mellow.

Stay on menu. Or with something they previously had on menu. I strayed with an idea of my own and the execution was not great. But the on menu stuff, which they practice and perfect, is very well done

Beautiful drinks. Yes. Beautiful. In every way. Space gets kinda club-y at night. Go on the early side to enjoy your cocktails in peace, stay for the party once you're nice and toasty.

Excellent cocktails are served in this Chinatown speakeasy. Try the Dear Prudence for something a little lighter: Aviation Gin and Pimms liqueur, passionfruit juice, lime, and agave nectar.

Killer cocktail bar. Make a res, get there early, or not get in at all. A bit hidden. $20 per drink not inclusing tax and tip, but worth it for the experience and deliciois drinks.

Music here is just as experimental as the cocktails on Sunday night. Get Matthew the head bartender to make you whatever he pleases. Don't leave without trying the smoked Negroni + Eucalyptus Tree.

Apotheke claims they know their cocktails but when asked to make a pink gin, they laughed. Perhaps the bartenders need to go to Amor y Amargo or even The Shanty, where they have pink gin on tap.

The first time that I came here I felt that I overpaid for my drink. Then the bartender gave me another for free. Well played, I'd say. Great place to stop by if you're in Chinatown.

Pricey (I got 2 drinks for $36), but delicious mixed drinks made with fresh and I believe local organic fruits mixed in. Nice place to bring a lady friend. Great atmosphere and music.

Unexpectedly cool cocktail bar in the heart of Chinatown, but the large, noisy crowds detract from the experience. Avoid the gunpowder cocktail - sounds interesting, but doesn't taste great.

Most "prescriptions" are $18. Nice cozy speakeasy and the two drinks I had were solid. Not sure about repeat visits though, knowing there are superior speakeasies not too far away.

Spot the Chemist sign and duck in here for a "prescription". It's a unique spot with an apothecary feel to it. If vodka soda's your drink, I recommend the Ivy Fizz.

The environment is attractive and the menu is filled with innovative drink descriptions. The issue with Apotheke is in the execution. Manhattan has a lot of bars that do it better for less $$$.

Monday night jazz. The band stands in front of the bar and rocks while you sip dangerously strong but delicious cocktails. My fav: Bourbon Sour. Mind the flames!

Speakeasy cocktail bar smack dab in Chinatown. Looks like a Chinese pharmacy from the outside. Lab-themed and all of the mixologists wear lab coats and mix your drinks in vials and test tubes.
