The cylindrical panoramic painting of the Civil War Battle of Atlanta here was the largest oil painting in the world until 2004, when it was surpassed in size by a mural at the Kalamazoo Air Zoo.
Only 3 cycloramas (a 360-degree view of a story as a painting) survive, and Atlanta's (1921) is considered the best. This painting depicts the Civil War's Battle of Atlanta. Civil War museum on-site.
The largest painting in the country and one of only two cycloramas depicts a view of the Civil War battle from just inside the Fifteenth Corps lines at about 4:30 p.m. on July 22, 1864.
Not only a Civil War museum and mural but also a place for some very thought provoking lectures. Go before they move to Buckhead!
Don't ask -- just get thee to the Cyclorama. You will be glad you did. (Closed on Sundays)
Great place to learn how the south was dominated by the yankees....and how they plan to rise again...ha ha ha
Had a great time partying with @Big Boi, the museum was really nice! Who would've thought to have a party here.
Talk to Akeema!
El cyclorama es imperdible. Es una maqueta gigante que gira alrededor del espectador. La entrada es barata.
