Here for a few hours? Check out gate 1. It's downstairs at the east end of the terminal. It's quiet, full of seats, and has many outlets for you to recharge your devices!

Welcome to Austin! They have done a decent job of implementing Austin's "weird" vibe into this airport. Some days you'll find live music right in the concourse. I've never seen that anywhere else!

Finally! Austin has Pre at security. If you qualify, keep your shoes and belt on, leave everything inside your luggage--computers, too--and walk through the metal detector. Just like the old days.

Annie's will sell you a side if scrambled eggs, seasoned with delicious butter. Get some free salsa from them and have a tasty, carbless breakfast in the land if carbs that is airport breakfast.

Take the Airport Flyer (100) to downtown for $1.00 (free for UT student/faculty w/pass). Pick-up is on lower level next to taxis. It will drop you off at 4th and Trinity (Austin Convention Center).

If you have TSA PreCheck and are not checking bags this airport is a breeze to get in and out of. Great food options too. Also, the only USA airport I've come across with live music!

Austin Bergstrom makes flying fun. It's packed with local chain restaurants to welcome you and often has live music. It's also easy to navigate & rarely hard to get through security.

Get TSA Pre-Check & go to the center of the airport to get through security. One straight line-don't have to remove anything. I breezed through there in less than a minute. This was around 10-10:30 am.

If you're as anti-Pepsi as I am, you're probably craving a Coca-Cola right about now. Head to Amy's Ice Cream across from Gate 12. They even have free refills! Also, they have Diet Dr. Pepper!

If you're flying SWA, AA, frontier or JetBlue your terminal won't have a Starbucks but it will have an awesome local coffee shop called Austin Java. Check it out! Maudie's is also amazing tex mex!

If you need to park - try to find the 3rd floor of the parking garage. Entrance is tricky with all of the construction, but worth it!

The security line to the right (by JetBlue) is usually quicker than middle and left. You can walk down regardless which you're flying.

As an Austinite I love the city, but I wish this airport had more to offer. As a tourist city we should have a bigger airport with more diverse options and better facilities and parking lots.

Heading downtown and not renting a car? Skip the cab and pick-up the CapMetro bus for $1 to the right of the cab line. Takes about as long and is much cheaper than taxis or shuttles.

Take the toll road if you are going south. It hits right at the airport. It avoids all traffic through the heart of town and is worth the cost.
