Opened in June of 1998, Babbo's epic, landmark wine list, exciting quintessentially New York dining room and expert, attentive, and cordial service make a table at Babbo, Mario and Joe's flagship restaurant, one of New York’s prized possessions.
Some of the best Italian in NYC, well deserving of its Michelin Star. The goat cheese ravioli, bucatini and the fettuccine were phenomenal. The bucatini is a must get!
Have you been to Marea? See you there. Highlight of the night, Red Hot Chilli Peppers album playing.
Love it! The white truffle menu at truffle season is super!!!!
A restaurant with a view. Good food and ambience
The truffle tasting menu is out of this world! Expensive but so worth it.
White truffle tasting menu with wines - amazing!!!!
Pasta With Funghi Trifolati = mind blown!
Loud, disruptive and worst fucking music selection I've heard in my life. Food is outstanding, but the experience leaves little to be desired
Black spaghetti rock shrimp & duck & brussel Sprouts
Do the tasting menu with wine pairings. No need to worry about anything else.
Awarded one star (★) in the 2015 Michelin Guide for NYC restaurants.
The bucatini was outstanding as was the oxtail gnocchi. But don't leave without trying the head cheese. Don't ask just consume :)
Great place for a special occasion.
ask the waiters for wine recos. Got a great red for $80 (the wine here is $$). Avoid the squab (super rare and gamey) but go for the beef cheek ravioli. Duck is tasty but pork chop is the real star
Great for a traditional Italian meal. Burrata is heavenly. Pasta can be overcooked. The upstairs area has great light, ask for a table there.
Follow them on Twitter to see reservation cancellations. They usually put how many they can seat at a table and for what time then encourage walk-ins at the bar.
Love the food. The sommelier very snobby.
I don't necessarily think all Mario Batali's restaurants serve the best food but you cannot go wrong with this location. Definitely try beef cheek ravioli though
Asparagus ravioli. more please!
Batali's OG flagship continues to be great for special occasions. You can ask your server to portion and course out shared dishes and even recommend pairings for each.
Get the beef cheek ravioli! So flavorful.
Very nice Italian food
The beef cheek ravioli was amazing.
Lives up to the hype
"enjoy a bowl of chianti-stained pappardelle with wild boar ragu or fennel-dusted sweetbreads." - thrillist
Disaster. Upscale, poorly managed, over sold, great food. Wait staff is good, management is not doing there job of creating a good experience.
Beef cheek ravioli and the Pistachio and Chocolate Semifreddo make the perfect meal!

i just love the food. rich and delicious. you will not leave hungry, that's for sure.
Save space for the pistachio and chocolate semifreddo!
Get: pasta tasting menu. Beef cheek ravioli. Perfect lamp chops.
Impressed by apps/dessert, underwhelmed by entree. Service caught on to this and comped the pasta, which was excellent on their part.
Classic NYC Italian. Impossible to have a bad meal. Incredible service, wine selection, pasta and fish.
Definitely need reservation! Prices weren't bad. Amazing food, maybe even better service! Everything cames from Italy even the black truffle. The mint love letters pasta dish is niceThe desserts amaz
Miles out of my price range. It was damn good. Fancy dining, fancy people. Best in the area, if cost isn't a big deal for you.
Super.... Best Italian food...
Guinea Hen...incl. truffels: delicious!
Mario Batali's home ground is better than most fine diningroom restaurants I've been to in Italy - and this is written by a German...
Squid ink pasta
Amazing food and great service.
Very well executed Italian fare but nothing too interesting or to rave about. Come here if you like consistency and you don't like surprises.
Beef cheek ravioli and the black spaghetti.
Sit at the bar and stick to the pasta and you'll be happy.
Incredibly cozy. Follow their Twitter to get last minute reservations. Incredible Italian food & awesome pumpkin dessert. Perfect intimate dinner location.
Having some Italian Food!!
