People tend to check in during these times:
Bacchanal is a wine retail shop, a wine bar, a live music venue, a New York style deli, and an international bistro. We open at 11 am and we usually close around midnight, seven days a week. We have live music and food and wine seven nights a week.
Come on Sunday evenings for delicious food from guest chefs and live music in the courtyard
Try the generous cheese plates served at the wine shop. -Gambit's Five in 5
Buy a bottle of wine up front, then find a table in the backyard to order food and listen to live music. Totally cool.
Might, just might, be the coolest place I've been in New Orleans.
Chef cooking out back six nights a week, live music seven nights a week
Known for its al fresco dining ala Bywater with live music, skeeters, and a slew of rickety furniture, Bacchanal offers a seasonal menu of exquisite small plates on the cheap. [Eater 38 Member]
A wine & cheese shop, serious kitchen, live music venue, and fun bar all rolled into one. Hand the cheese you buy to the cashier along with $5; you'll get extra grilled bread & cheese plate fixin's.
This is a magical place.
Get the grilled corn with crab. I never leave tips so it was *that* good. Nom.
Cannot imagine a glorious world in which a place like this opened in NY. Read up before you go- the wine/cheese/food/seating can be a bit difficult to navigate 1st time. Or just find new friend & ask!
This is my spiritual home. The steak, the swordfish, doesn't matter. Get here early, get a table and get loose.
Try the Bacon Wrapped Dates - Interesting with the tomato sauce over it. Sweet and savory. (via @Foodspotting)
Fantastic! Love the relaxed, pay/tip up front dining. The food was excellent. Bacon wrapped dates are to die for! Chocolate bark for dessert in combo with the Barrel Monkey Shiraz was perfect.
One of the best places to go for a great bottle of wine, bread, cheese, entrée, and dessert.....basically everything :) also very reasonably priced!
If you created this listing, the name is misspelled - needs another "c" - "Bacchanal".
Free wine tastings every Saturday afternoon - hang out with people who know wine and try before you buy. Also - super fancy cheeses to nosh on between wines! Seriously - go to the cheese fridge and
Pork chop yum. Chicken liver awesome. Can't wait to go back!
Absolutely loved this place! It's a hike from Old Metairie but it's totally worth the drive!!!
Bacon wrapped dates!
These guys have a killer wine selection. The outdoor patio and live music make for a perfect getaway from the city, without having to leave town. Love this place!
The best rigatoni I think I have ever had. If you like mushrooms this is a must. The wine selection is good and you will find something that will delight. All that and live music.
The second cheapest wine was transcendent
I know the menu changes a lot, but if the bacon wrapped dates or the osso bucco are on there, do it.
Great spot off the beaten path with an amazing drink selection, delicious menu, and enjoyable outdoor seating. A gem.
"A must, cool place to hang out" - JD; "Lovely drinks, tapas, food place w cheap drinks and outdoor seating" - Jana
The Jalisco Mule is delicious.
Cheese plate is a must.
Montmartre sparking wine $15!! Amazeballs
Sit outside close to the band but also check out the bar upstairs and peer from the balcony.
Make sure to chat with Virg, the bouncer at the front door. He grew up next door, and has a genuine love for the area.
Recommend getting there by early evening on the weekends to get a table in the backyard. You'll likely be planted there for hours as you drink wine, eat delicious food, and listen to amazing music!
amazing, amazing, amazing. but it's often hard to find parking right next to it. be prepared to walk a few blocks in the neighborhood.
Just THE coolest place in town. Pick cheeses for a giant cheese plate. Bring a bottle of wine to the backyard... or sit upstairs at the bar and chat with the bartender.
Eat the steak! Nom Nom Nom
Wonderful atmosphere, great wine, and fantastic food. You MUST try the desserts!!!
Flat Iron Steak!
Love some bacchanal- gets better every time!
Ask for Ralph. He's the best!
Bring a fan!! Soooo hot; bring a couple of hand-held fans with you!
Seriously sucks! Rude staff, overpriced bottles, nasty unclean tables and did I mention the incredibly rude staff? There's 2,000 better Nola establishments to enjoy wine and small bites.
One of my new favorite places. Great crowd...don't be afraid to dance!
