Good food but a bit expensive.
An institution. Atmosphere alone is worth a visit, even if the food is slightly overpriced & the hostess slightly snooty (wouldn't even give an estimated wait time without entire party present)
The French Onion Soup is transcendent.
Fried were good, I'll give them that. Steak was meh. However, service was atrocious, while the tables were unnecessarily cramped. All in all terrible experience.
Expensive for a French bistro, i.e. steak frites $41. Not a good value. Better options in NYC. Also, very loud.
A perfect restaurant. This brasserie has amazing food, attentive service, and just the right ambience. The ambience is very cool here. It's constantly busy.
Balthazar is an iconic French restaurant in New York and the original brunch spot. The ambiance is atmosphere are a traditional French bistro or Cafe in Budapest. The wait staff are all immaculate
Good steak tartar and amazing burger as well as steak with fries Service was also incredible Desserts we asked (chocolate cake and apple tart tartin) weren't at the same level as the rest. Unfortunate
My favorite place for special occasions. You can't go wrong with anything there
Goat cheese and French onion tart was amazing. Great ambience. Friendly service, albeit very crowded. Must try the dessert!
Service was exceptional. Carol was amazing. Went there for brunch. The puff pastry egg dish is the best. Fries are great too. And the cappuccino is very big which is a great thing.
Meh, food was OK nothing special. Service was horrible. Not impressed. Also the place gets so packed people are constantly pushing into you while you eat.
Burger and steak tartar
Breakfast, coffee, breads, service, ambience
Best breakfast in NY, order the bread basket! The sticky bun is the best. They have excellent French onion soup and eggs Benedict!
My favorite is their scrambled eggs in the puff pastry.
It's a New York institution. Pricey, but you'll almost certainly leave happy. Definitely try the pastries
I love the breakfast here (order egg Benedict with smoked salmon) 😍
Typical French bistro - it's like being in Paris but with a nicer staff! A bit more pricey than the standard French restaurants in the city
Waaaay to expensive for what you get. Avocado toast is terible and wet from tomato water. Coffee is straight up crap.
Salmon was so good 😍👌🏻
No table available for whole day without reservation at 3:30pm but got place after a 15 minute wait at the bar. Kevin , the bar tender made us feel welcome. Had great Egg Norwegian and Salmon with
Eggs Benedict! So fluffy.
Duck confit. wow!
The povlova dessert was amazing. I will definitely return to this wonderful place.
You won't find a breakfast sandwich on the menu, but if you ask nicely they'll make one for you on a crossaint and it's super super good!
Another good French bistro
Walked in on a Sunday morning after being eyed up and down by the host to evaluate if we "fit it". Great food though and wonderful service. The place to see and be seen on a Sunday morning.
Great for a business meeting, but very corporate setting.
The best Sunday brunch amazing eggs benedicts
Escargot and the grilled chicken sandwich were spectacular!!
Food is DElicious! Def worth every moment we waited.f
Nice vibe. Try the octopus appetizer and the confit duck entrée. The creme brûlée was great.
The food was great and the service is excellent.
Classic brasserie, can't go wrong with anything. The oysters and shellfish are the best and service... Perfection!
Go to get your bistro fix!
These folks know their oysters. 👌🏻
Nice interior, typical french bistro. Staff extremely attentive and caring. The crowd is often horrible: Tourists in shorts. Food is good. Definitely try the steak frites.
Goat cheese tart to start and the banana tart to finish.
Classic burger always a good choice !
Try the steak
Don't miss the Point ou Poivre.
Onion soup, oisters, Baltazar steak, fries, the mussels, everything is good! Must try the bruch :)
excellent food and atmosphere
The steak and french fries are really good👌🏽
Great French restaurant in SoHo. Quite pricey but worthwhile to experience.
We had to wait for the table for 30 min even though we had a reservation and they forget to bring the food I ordered. It was an embarassing experience. It's not worth the money.
The place is good, the food is delicious but the service is awful. Everyone wants to eat there so they don't care about the clients at all. When you pay that much you want the staff to be helpful. 👎
