On April 12, 1984, Doris Lessing signed books with a smile. Twenty three years later, she would become the eleventh woman and oldest ever person to win the Nobel Prize in Literature.
On April 4, 1991, cyberpunk authors Bruce Sterling (left) and William Gibson signed books at the BU Bookstore. They had just collaborated on an ‘alternative history’ novel, The Difference Engine.
Sales staff is always very helpful and friendly. Cafe is the opposite and inconsistent. Sadly the nearest actual Starbucks is on brookline ave and they're much friendlier.
Barnes and Noble has it all, food, coffee, wifi, and plenty of reading material for when you need to take a break from your own studying.

This place is huge! Three floors of books, plus a ton of BU merchandise. There's a cool "Faculty Authors" section on the second floor.
