Beamish, The Living Museum of the North, tells the story of the North East of England with a 1900's Town and Pit Village, an 1820's Old Hall and Waggonway and a 1940's Farm.
Try the fish chips cooked using coal
Best museum ever!
It's soo.. different though I would get bored but was epic. Has a fish and ships shop. Should have more restaurants options. Hated the bakery. Amazing experience
A great and educational family day out to see how folk lived in't past
Going down the mine!
Bring your own food and drink because it costs an arm and a leg to buy it there.
Make sure you have a pushchair that folds if you want to ride the trams and buses easily
Love the mine, the brewery & seeing the houses, shops n other businesses fron a 100 years plus years ago. A ride on tbe trams a must.
Best museum ever. You won't regret spending a whole day here. Worth getting an annual pass and use it as an entry ticket as many times as you want.
Quite simply, this is the best museum I've ever been to. And the chip shop does unbelievably good chips!
I went here as a kid with my school.
Check out the back of the sweet shop for demonstrations of how the sweets were made and a free taste!
The chip shop has a wait of at least half an hour, but they are worth it!
Great to visit if you want to visot mpre then once in 1yr then buy a 1yr pass it will save you loads
Go to the fish shop a bit of a queue at times but the fish and chips are to die for.
Pre-book tickets as queues can be massive.
Arrive early as this is a massive site with loads to see so you need a whole day!
Don't miss the sweet shop or the chip shop (worth the wait)
Get in the queue early for Fish & Chips
A good place to take your kids but it is always very busy!
