Monday nights have fun Latin and Latin-inspired dance music!
I went here once before I lived in NY. It was a raging packed dancehall party. Never could find the place again until this year. Def a gem, but PACKED.

Brazilian n' Latin dance music, guava caipirinhas!
Come ready to drink tropical drinks and dance to dope rhythmic beats in a small sweaty room.
Went there hoping to find enough room to practice some salsa moves but turns out, its even hard to find a sniff of air! Especially in the weekends. I couldn't stand the crowd more than 15 minutes.
Good place for dancing!
Excelente musica y buenos tragos
...great place for dancing on Friday! Soca, Calypso, Dancehall and Kompa. Good crowd...come ready to sweat.

Monday night dancing y'all
Get there early (9ish) if you want to find a seat other wise go with comfy shoes ;)
Came with a friend looking for salsa & Afrobeat dancing. What I got was a bunch of square-jawed guys dancing awkwardly with a slew of drunken girls. The live percussion & drinks were on point though.
Live percussionist and DJ keep the crowd dancing all night. Mostly Afro Caribbean and samba. Small venue, always crowded.
The fresh watermelon juice and vodka special is amazing!
Awesome dance party. I always end up meeting new ppl there.
This place gets SO packed!!! Don't wear any clothes!!
Love love love this place. Used to be my every Friday not spot for a couple of years. Haven't been there in a long time, Miss it!
Get yo ass a capeta and thank me later, you're welcome!
Loved the music especially the drummer but the space is super cramped and im not a fan of hipsters pretending to bacchata. . I prefer a more authentic experience
This place sucks! $10 cover for guys and cash only. And bad music.

With lively global music, no cover and no dress code, come to dance. Having a gender-balanced group of friends will please the doormen of this small bar. Cash only. - Green Guide Editor
Hot, sweaty and so crowded you can't move. Why anyone would actually WANT to be here is BEYOND ME.
Drinks with fresh fruit purée. How can you go wrong? Also, fun music and dancing in a small place.
“Don’t be afraid to come by in the wee hours – this is definitely a classy late-night place where you can dance with a real Latin crowd until dawn.” More at http://www.partyearth.com/venues/bembe.
Amigo de Curline
