Tucked away down a side street, it's the perfect place for an intimate dinner or special occasion. Lovely steak tartare and knockout cocktails. If you love gin try the Cucumber Flip.

Lovely atmosphere, super service! Mains not too amazing (nice but common tartare, fish and chips bland and HEAVILY battered). But, the cured trout as starter and french toast for dessert - TO DIE FOR!

Excellent venue with a piano man, lovely vibe and food to match. Recommend: jug of bloody Mary on a Sunday brunch & booking a table in the piano room. Food (9/10), Service (8/10), Value (7/10) Read more

2016: Bistrotheque still commands a spot as one of the best places to eat & socialise in London. Top atmosphere as always. Cabaret is long gone. My best spot is the far corner of the bar.

The only thing that out-cools the chic, artsy crowd here is the live performances. The resident pianist plays top hits during brunch, while cabaret singers keep the dinner crowds entertained.

Try the Carlingford oysters washed down with a reindeer! Reindeer is the best cocktail on the secret menu! Elderflower liqueur with gin/vodka topped up with champagne... Not just for Christmas

A simple menu inspired by French bistro & British classics, Bistrotheque also serves an excellent brunch w/ live piano on weekends and is known for its special cabaret room downstairs.

the anchovie salad (with snake beans) for a starter was divine, the steak tartare beautifully prepared, but nothing beats the Banana custard pie with peanut butter ice cream... oh my! AMAZING!
  • Maximilian H.
So-so steak tartare - great herbs, but the meat could be smoother. Excellent avocado toast and ambience with the live piano player.

Cannot believe how overrated this place is, nice venue, would go for drinks, but the food was so poor! Grilled onglet smelled of burnt tyres & the brûlée was almost an omelette w/a bitter burnt crust!

NOTE: this place is NOT for foodies! Food was yuk! LET'S CLARIFY: score is high because of the decor and charming factor! The starter - salty cod, was literally disgusting and tartare average!

Order the blueberry pancakes and the egg royale! Best options on the menu, to try with the very spicy bloodily Mary :)

Boozy brunch here is the best. Excellent eggs benedict and cocktails. The piano man takes requests so send him a few of your fave tunes... (Backstreet Boys anyone?)

I just love the steak tartar here and the cocktails are always very well done. I opted for a classic whiskey sour this time.

The black pudding, duck egg & wild mushrooms is as rich as it sounds. Doesn't come with toast so get a side of potatoes!

Why does this have such great ratings? Yes, good service, great ambiance, but the food has no flavor at all. The tartare is highly rated, but was bland. Overrated place, unfortunately.
