No better place to go for barbecue in Ballard than this hot spot. Don't skip out on the sides, especially the pulled-pork nachos and Buffalo chicken livers. [Eater 38 Member]
Watch out for the Dalek behind the bar!
Get the house-made fireball whiskey. (Fire extinguisher not required.)
Braised beef sandwich was one of the best things I have tasted in my life.
1/2 rack of baby back ribs + 2 sides makes for a great meal
Texas Style BBQ, Pulled Pork Sandwich is awesome :) Get drinks at the Gerald on the other side of the road.
Ugh. Still searching for bbq. Key is to perfect cooking one animal and one sauce. With no more than 3 side options.
After living in NC and GA, this place makes me sad. Not good.
The mac and cheese is enormous. Enough for 2 to share and still be full. Also, the corn bread is burnt and not worth the $$.
Befriend Trevor at the bar!
The cornbread with honey butter is $2 at happy hour and basically crack in bread form. Get two.
Cowboy Killer is a LOT. Enough for two, or maybe three.
Collard greens! Collard greens collard greens collard greens!
Nachos, barbecue, beer
Probably the best Bloody Mary in the Ballard area - thick, spicy and well-garnished. Great whiskey selection. Barbecue is alright but it's no Texas.
Got the cowboy killer and was mostly disappointed. All meats lacked any flavor. The ribs tasted like they smoked it lightly for an hour then tossed it on the grill to cook quickly which made it dry
A good attempt on Ballard's part for a BBQ joint, but it's just a little too swanky. Decent food, but the atmosphere, service, and bold dishes kill any shot this place had at being "authentic"
Great staff, enjoyed the good as well
Excellent BBQ & grits
BBQ nachos FTW.
Kicking boot whiskey kitchen is a better option for BBQ
Full menu and late night happy hour til 1 am, the best late night food in Ballard!
Get the fried chicken on Thursdays, plenty to share the plate.
Good cocktails and excellent selection of whiskeys.
BBQ Pork sandwich is awesome, especially at happy hour which starts again at 11pm
Enormous Mac and Cheese with any of 6 mixins!
Best cream soda ever!
Got the biscuts and maple pork belly - like pork belly on a lollipop!
They'll text you when a table becomes available on busy nights! Oh, and the food is great. To drink, try the Montana Manhattan.
Mac'n Cheese with bacon lardons mmmmm
Corn on the cob. Do it.
Great staff, great menu. Mac & Cheese with pulled pork? Do yourself a favor and order it!
Did not live up to all the hype I read in Seattle Magazine. Cocktails are original & tasty but the fare left much to be desired, especially for the price. Pete's in Fremont is consistently better.
Great BBQ, great drafts and amazing burning and whiskey. $5 pulled pork or braised beef sandwich for happy hour. Fried chicken on Thursdays! Try it! Try it all!
Pecan pie topped with whiskey, amazing!
Great pulled pork, burgers and pecan pie.
Get the Cowboy Killer to try it all. Be sure to add a Mac and Cheese.
The non-alcoholic drink options are awesome, especially the Squirly Shirley with smoked grenadine.
The Bitter Butter Bourbon will warm your soul.
The brisket is amazing and by far the best in Seattle. They use a naval cut.
They have a whole part of the menu devoted to Mac and cheese!
The beef brisket was amazing! Loved the corn on the cob too! The baked beans... eh they were ok.
Sides are all tasty! Creamy grits, perfectly braised greens, and baked beans were the best.
Order of BBQ tastiness, descending: beef brisket, ribs, pulled pork, pork belly, chicken.
6 weeks old, this place has already worked out any kinks. Try sneaking a bottle of the sweet bbq sauce into your purse. You know, to put pour onto things at home (meatloaf, chicken, cereal....)? Mmmm.
Porkbelly dish was...Delish!
Sazerac! Beef brisket! Brussel sprouts, baked beans, GRITS! Heaven.
Awesome new bbq in Ballard. Whole chicken and brisket was plenty for group of 4. Great cocktails and old Rasputin stout on Nitro. Yum
Pulled pork sammich is AWESOME! Have one w/the mustard, YUM!! Ribs are mighty tasty too!!
