    A trip to the BBQ capital of the world is a must. The Beef Rib is all you need here wit yo fave side. Then top it off wit son Banana Pudding Fam. Lastly, down it all with a Shiner Bock. 🍻

    Peach cobbler is exactly how great grandmother made it! The pickles and coleslaw are really good too. The brisket is full of flavor but a touch dry. This is my first TX BBQ so maybe it's the style.

    Been to Smittys, Kreuz, and Blacks. Blacks is my favorite! Pork spare & baby back ribs are best here, but when in Lockhart, you NEED to try the sausage (@ any one of these places). Nowhere compares!

    Pretty good bbq. I'd say the quality difference between this and Rudy's is less than the price difference plus gas. Good food and a fun road trip, though.

    Our first time here and had the best BBQ in a long while. You order meat by the pound and remember to bring cash. Sell sides but its all about the meat! They also give you crackers and ice cream!

    Ate at all the bbq joints in town, Blacks was the best. Sauce had a little too much chili flavor for me. Good atmosphere. Had lean brisket and wasn't too dry...just right.

    More out of towners have heard of Smitty's and Kreuz, I think, but Black's definitely shouldn't be overlooked. Heavenly brisket and ribs. Bypass the commercial potato salad; get the mashers instead.

    Lots of Hype! Brisket was very dry and fatty! Pork ribs have no rub and were tough. The regular sausage was the best I've ever eaten. I purchased 10 links to bring back to Houston.

    Kreuz's & Smitty's are more like a meat market, Black's and Chisolm Trail are more like small cafeterias. But the BBQ is quite good. Perhaps better for kids. Black's uses a sauce, unlike first two. Read more
