The Brattle Theatre is Cambridge's only independent cinema, showing films since 1953. We play the best in classic, cutting-edge, foreign, and art-house films. We also feature first-run films, new releases of classics, and repertory programs covering directors and genres.
They've got a balcony!
Now serving beer
The Brattle serves great beer. They usually have a couple of Cambridge Brewing beers on tap and big bottles from Pretty Things & Ipswich. Cheers!

The soft drinks they serve are unusually tasty; I prefer the Ginger Ale.

Lots of great double features and fun series.
The popcorn is real popcorn, but it unsalted. If you like classic super salty movie theater popcorn, be sure to add plenty of it yourself. And the butter is real butter! Awesome.
Great popcorn prices and a balcony.
Sit on the balcony to get away with laughing inappropriately during the movie. Catch their double features when you can!
This place is great for indie films, dusted-off classics, hilarious series, fun one-off events & and awesome visits. They also serve great beer!

Best seats in the house are in the front right or left of the balcony...nothing better in the whole area!
The Oreo ice cream is amazing!
A rare art house theater. Try picking a classic or foreign film you've never heard of before.
They put real butter on the popcorn, and the beer selection is pretty fancy.
Always keep an eye on the schedule. They show some real gems.
