People tend to check in during these times:
If you see someone is getting off the train, don't block the damn door!
intercom sucks can never understand what they announce
Mind the gap!
Need more new trains
Metro North trains are always 5-15 mins late. Be patient
Transit connection to Waterbury. Also, Port Jefferson Ferry is in walking distance from the train station. The Arena at Harbor Yard and the Bluefish Stadium are located here as well.
Change trains if they tell you a train car is on fire
Traffic is like an airport outside the station.
Try to eat before you walk-In to the train station the smell from cafe might suck you in lol. An there pretty pricey. Good bacon & egg cheese but paying $3 for bread and butter not worth it
Track 4: always going towards New Haven and Boston. Track 3: always going towards Stamford, Manhattan, and D.C.
Overpriced "cafe"/"deli". Don't waste your money for hair in your food.
Sucks that there are no benches here :-(
Very easy to navigate. The little cafe inside is nice and the guy who works there is very pleasant.
If you want water don't forget the vending machine
Tough to tell the time by looking @ the clock on the back wall by the ladies room 8(
Great connection to the bus station which also has a Dunkin Donuts great way to get a quick bite If the weather is bad.
Great restaurants downtown. Ralph & Richie's, Cafe Roma and plenty more coming soon
Make sure you know what train you're getting on. Metro North and Amtrak trains look different!!! Metro north cars are all the same....Amtrak pulls in with an actual engine first THEN cars
Not the best place to be the day after Christmas. Massive congestion.
Be early bc know one ever knows if The train is early or late or if you need to switch tracks
City of Dreams!
Listen carefully to calls for trains. They often change tracks to opposite sight of where ticket office is located for trains expressoing to grand central.
7:11 am New York bound train - Sit in the first car and if your destination is only Stamford, you might ride for free. The conductor usually checks for tickets after the Stamford station.
When collecting ticket from Amtrak kiosk, you don't need the original credit card the ticket was purchased with, just use any card, then enter your reservation code.
DONT buy anything from the deli here he way over price . NY doesn't even have those prices !!!!!! smh
Will Amtrak ever be on time?
Even though the new trains have wide doors and two people can enter and exit at the same time, stiffen up your body while going in. You might wind up having a Leprechaun trying to walk through you.
I then found a hair in my gyro... Awesome. Never eating there again! I don't care how hungry I am. (pre packaged, factory sealed ok if I want to give them any money.)
Nice train station, walking distance to Webster Bank Arena and Ralphs and Riches Restaurant and Grill.
Buy a ticket on the platform or else tickets on the train cost 3x as much. NYC MTA Metro cards not accepted.
Cafe is ridiculous. $2.75 for a 20 oz bottle of coke.
Dumbass train station
Check out the cafe for some quick bites.
LOVE the AC in this place!
Shithole. Pass this place if you can.
Protip: The train to Waterbury doesn't have a pantograph. STOP ASKING IF THE ELECTRIC TRAINS GO TO WATERBURY YOU NOOBS.
Paper schedule on the wall, 1 svc window, gl if you're in a hurry.
Never come here. It's shady. Had someone try to sell me stolen stuff then tried to steal my purse!
I'm Glad I don't live Here! Sheesh!!
Taste the biscuit
Late trains. Track changes. Cancellations. Beware.
Beware of track changes.
They really ought to get a Quick Kiosk for Amtrak on the track 4 side, what a pain to lug your bags!!
Know which side of the station you need to be on! It's a far run from track 3 down the stairs and over to track 4 (or vice versa)!!!!
Don't sit behind the dining car. It's loud, smelly, and crowded. The door is constantly being opened and closed too (loud & cold in winter). WiFi is slow but nice that its there at all
Not nearly as confusing as the Stamford train station
