The Whitehaven beach, Whitsunday Island is known for its beautiful white sands,brought to the beach by sea currents. The sand doesn't retain heat,making it a comfortable barefoot walk along the shore.
Duty free shop is so small.
Don't drop your wallet in the plane when leaving, it's a bit of a wall back.
Don't let the lure of Eagle Boys pizza suck you in. You will be ordering something resembling a beer coaster with a smattering of toppings.
Visitors: the first thing you should do is to buy yourself a go card. Your transport will be cheaper and unused amounts are refundable when you leave.
Qantas free wifi is 30 mins only per device.
If you can avoid being stick here overnight, it's highly advisable!!!
Best coffee is at Merlot down at the Jetstar end of the terminal outside the security area.
Don't be tempted with the free wi-fi sign that guides you toward Cavu and velluto coffee stands. There is a larger selection of food at the food court and you can still get the free wifi access there.
People shouldn't be allowed to smoke in the waiting area. The rest of us who are waiting for pickups are forced to be exposed to their pollution..
Arriving or leaving at peak times? Then the SkyTrain is the way to go... As well as beating the taxi queue (or traffic jam as you come into the airport), they have quiet carriages & WiFi.

In the bathrooms behind the car rental counters there are shower stalls. They're small and have large paper towel rolls for them, but they do well to refresh after a long trip.
