‘Straddie’ is one of Moreton Bay’s gems. A lovely sand island that is frequently turned into a playground by Brisbanites escaping the urban grind, it has some genuinely pristine wilderness areas.

The Whitehaven beach, Whitsunday Island is known for its beautiful white sands, brought to the beach by sea currents. The sand doesn't retain heat, making it a comfortable barefoot walk along the shore.

Arriving or leaving at peak times? Then the SkyTrain is the way to go... As well as beating the taxi queue (or traffic jam as you come into the airport), they have quiet carriages & WiFi.
