    The playgrounds at Pier 6 are whimsical and awesome. I wish I had playgrounds like this as a kid.

    I think this is a really pretty playground BUT it's also sort of a nightmare. It's so crowded and the thick bushes make it almost impossible to keep an eye on your kid if there even 10 feet away.

    You will have to walk a good 20 minutes if you enter the park off high st. The $4 ferry at Pier 1 also goes to governor's island

    Lots of fun for kids, everyone needs sunscreen or cover up clothing as there is no shade! Great facilities, and clean. Free ferry to gov island fri-sun in summer.
