Magnificent view of FiDi. Not an ideal place to run though especially during peak hours. Wish the walk lane was a bit wider.

This is a historical site not be missed! The walk is barely a mile but with all the sight seeing and embracing the history of this old suspension bridge you'll forget all about the walking.

This is the best bridge for walking in New York. Amazing views of Downtown and Midtown. Watch out for the bikers, though. Picture from East River Running Path.

Beautiful walk though Saturdays can be overwhelmingly crowded. The bikers are also exceptionally serious about their bike lane.

Some days the bridge is so crowded you can barely walk, just a line of people walking slowly, like a crowd leaving a movie theater or something. Best to go when it's pouring rain...

For a better view, you've got to walk from the Brooklyn side towards Manhattan. 😃 (and respect the walking/bike lanes...)

Good view of the city!!! Very crowded. If on foot, be sure to stay off the bike path, which is half of the promenade. Best food selection on the Manhattan side of the bridge, in the adjacent park.

The Brooklyn Bridge was the first steel suspension bridge to be built in the world. The bridge cost a total of $15.5 million dollars in 1883, which is no small chunk of change present day either!
