Hope they get funding/ambition to expand this place. The building is beautiful, but some of the exhibits feel hand-me-down
Check to see what's exhibiting. The Sneaker Culture and Faile Art exhibits are my favorites in recently months.
Awesome museum, with free admission if you go at the right time. Plus - awesome changing exhibits, like the incredible Faile exhibit.
Can't wait for the Coney Island photo exhibit to open on 11/20! Impression in the Caribbean was excellent...enjoyed seeing Fransisco Oller's work
If you come here, you have to check out Kehinde Wiley!
A beautiful space, but recommended for peak season when all floors are open
First Saturday of every month is "first Saturday" - the museum is open till 11pm and will often have entertainment in the vestibule!
The photography exhibit was amazing.
One of my fave museums in the city, always with fresh & interesting exhibits in a beautiful space. Free on the first Sat of the month w live music & talks from 5-11pm, but any day is awesome here.
Be sure to stop by the Storm Over the Rockies on the 5th floor
The entrance fees are suggested donation amounts.
Can access the parking lot in back from Washington Ave.
Sit and relax on the steps out front on a gorgeous summer day.
Jusy Chicago's 'The Dinner Party' is a must see exhibit.
Have very interesting art exhibits. Had a great experience at the 'Kehinde Wiley: A New Republic' exhibit.
Best art museum in Brooklyn. A great alternative to the museums in Manhattan.
Free admission on the first Saturday of the month.
The permanent collection is very impressive and Brooklyn-centric. The rotating exhibits are world class, too.
Great stuff from assyrian era to contemporary exhibitions.
the most incredibly impressive Egyptian/mummy exhibit
Go see the neon wing!
Amazing mix of arts
We visited to see Basquiat Notebook and Faile & Bast. Basquiat was very moving to see his genius on paper.
Much bigger than it seems. Great exhibits.
There's good Faile and Basquiat exhibitions on at the moment), the Faile one is awesome. Pay by donation.. give them a dollar for 2, no need to get carried away.
Not too thrilled about the $15 park fee. Lived in Park Slope when I was a girl and never went to this park. Long overdue, the exhibits were interesting but the air conditioning was spotty.
Start from the top and take the stairs down each floor.
The sneaker exhibit was really cool
If you're a student, bring your school idea to pay a less suggested price
Great contemporary art pieces. Pay what you want
Sneakers exhibition is a must even if you are not a sneakerhead.
a sometimes under appreciated cultural gem in the heart of Brooklyn. it's good to see that despite the gentrification the spirit of the borough lives on inside
Seems to consistently put out great special exhibits. Worth the trip and the price of admission.
Make sure to check out their Ask app. Snap a pic of any exhibit, send, and staff will chat with you about it. Great service!
Some of the best exhibits in the city.
Sneaker exhibition is awesome!
One of my fave museums when you have a few hours by yourself and want to feel like you got to see everything. Basquiat for the 2nd time.
Get the art and garden combo pass to see the Botanical Gardens too!
First Saturdays are wonderful, and the museum's got a great collection of feminist art. It's a neighborhood institution and one of the best museums in NYC.
Their exhibits are always changing so it's never the same museum twice.
Great place for under pop art
By far one of the Best Museums I have ever visited!
$16 for regular adult admission. Check out the atrium on the top floors.
1st Saturday of each month = free admission between 5pm and 11pm
