Before you even get to the bakery you can smell the sweet delights awaiting you. Their pan au chocolat rivals that of French pastry shops and reminded me of my summer in France. Must go when visiting.

This spot is- expensive. I had a pea he croissant and it was $7. Seven bucks for a pastry. Don't get me wrong- the quality is tops but no pastry, even the The Kaugin Amann isn't worth $7.

Melt in your mouth vegetable quiche with heirloom tomatoes. Delicious espresso based drinks and massive croissants. You can see into the kitchen/prep area. Cool interior.

Coffee & quiche are solid. Pastries are ok, a little heavy on the sugar & light on the butter.

Pastries are delicious. You can watch them make pastries inside. Staff is very friendly. Service is slow - be prepared to wait in a long line.

This place is sooo good. The smell of baking goodies hits you when you walk in. I wanted to take a picture of the orangey flakey pastry I had, but it was gone too fast. Worth returning to orcas for!!

Centrally located in Eastsound, Brown Bear Baking serves up strong espresso and Steve Smith Teakmaker teas from Portland, Oregon. Drop in for a house-made pastry, croque monsieur, and americano. Read more

Tasty but service is lacking. Ordered lattes and our order was forgotten. People behind us received their drinks and then we had to remind them. Sad. Only one guy working the counter.
