Definitely order the strawberry soufflé if it's in season! Takes an hour, so be prepared to have some wine or coffee if you're not planning to order a full meal beforehand.

Favorite place in SF. She's been making 50+ soufflés a night for 35 years here now. So she knows what she's doing. Also, if in season do get the strawberry soufflé.

order wine to while away the hour you'll wait before souffles are served ... while you're waiting, venture to the backyard restroom (as an excuse to glimpse Jacqueline w/ her toque & basket of eggs)

If you are coming on a weekend, try to make a reservation the day before. It's at it's busiest on weekends and it's a really small place.

The restaurant can get very warm and they can't leave the door open or it affects the oven or souffle or something, so wear something cool.

Order a souffle, any souffle. They are sublime. Start with a savory and end with a sweet one. You can't go wrong. Be prepared to eat for at least one hour, so avoid awkward dates.
