This football stadium, built in 1923, is home to the University of California Golden Bears. The University of California announced a fundraising campaign in 1921 to fund a new stadium in Berkeley.
This stadium underwent a serious $321 million renovation in 2011. Bear fans now have a new press box, wider concourses, and more concession stands.
If you want to watch a game but just missed scoring tickets, feel free to join others on "Tightwad Hill," which overlooks the eastern side of Memorial Stadium.

The California Golden Bears defeated the Stanford Cardinals on a last-second touchdown to win 25-20 on 11/20/82. The Stanford band was already out on the field celebrating when this play occurred.

Arrive early, stay for halftime, and stick around for post-game to see the band. The Cal Band is one of the best college marching bands out there.

Plan to reach hours in advance on a big game day. Traffic on the roads near the stadium is very heavy (google maps lies). Also, getting into the stadium and getting to your seat will take very long.
Cal Memorial is dry. No alcohol of any kind is available.
Wear the right colors in Bear Territory
Open house at the newly renovated Memorial Stadium. Sunday 2 pm-4 pm. Enter from the North Tunnel, close to Bowles Hall.
Bring a hat and sun glasses
