One of my favorite museums! If you enjoy Rodin this is a MUST!
My favorite chilling place in SF. There may have concert(chamber music, organ) sometimes. After having enough fun in the museum, you can simply go down to lends end to enjoy a sunset view.
First(?) Tuesday a month has free admission to the museum.
really awsome exhibits, love to just drive by when trying to avoid 19th ave when getting off the golden gate bridge
If you want to see SOME nice paintings and not being the whole day in a museum, this one is for you. I don't recommend you the concerts because the walls are not real and the acoustic is horrible.
Stunning Parisian photo stop right in San Francisco. Excellent European-focused Fine Arts museum.
Great exhibits. Ridiculous entrance fees. Art for the people -- not at this "Palace."
Free Admission on the first Tuesday of the month!
A SF hidden gem - museum has a real Claude Monet water lily painting! Worth the admission - great view and artwork.
Beautiful surrounding (golden gate bridge visible) and museum. Get a map at the counter because some of the more valuable exhibits are in rooms toward the back on both sides
Oh la la! Check out the lettuce plate!
Great way to educate yourself in art history
Come on Sat or Sun at 4pm to catch the free organ concert -- amazing pipe organ!
A stop before the golden gate bridge
Go see the French impressionists
Renoir,Matisse,Van Gogh...you'll find many if not all the masters works on display. This museum is magnificent. It makes me feel thankful to be from SF.
Architecturally inspiring -amazing views to the Golden Gate Bridge. Rodin's The Thinker frames the entrance, setting the tone for a unique collection. From medieval to modern art, Rodin to porcelain.

really excellent impressionist exhibit. loved the layout of the museum. loads better than De Young, in my opinion.
I was extremely crowded in all exhibit rooms on a weekend. Maybe weekdays are less packed?
The panoramic view of San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge, and the Richardson Bay is a magnificent sight to see. ☆☆☆☆
This is an awesome Museum/Gallery. There are more art exhibits and displays here more than one can see in a day. Check out all the photos that visitors have taken at this magnificent place.
Much better art-museum than expected. Not sure why I assumed it would not be impressive, as I was surely proved wrong. A great collection and great featured exhibits! A must-see for art-lovers.

Google Field Trip App: Free Entry - Legion of Honorhttp://
Admission is free on the first Tuesday of the month.
Incredible views of the city and Rodin’s Thinker, which sits in the museum’s front courtyard, make the Legion a must.
Ask for a mirror and look in the skiffs. Look to the flowers in a silver vase- highlights the fleeing aspect of life, material possessions, and the conditions of afterlife determined by actions now.
The organ recitals on Sat/Sun 4pm are great. Organists play everything from classical, My Fair Lady tunes to the soundtrack from Charlie Chaplin's Modern Times.
A gorgeous must see location in San Francisco!
A tiny gem of a museum with a fantastic selection of furniture, medieval & romantic paintings. Bike out on a Saturday morning, and walk around the coast trail afterwards. Good temporary exhibits, too.
Great museum for Rodin fans. Also the organ show is epic.
this place is simply stunning: inside and out! I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys art or anyone who would like to learn a piece of history! great for school field trips, families or dates! ;)
This place would be a lot better if the curators didn't carry on conversations among themselves so loudly. The organ playing is amazing.
Cafe has really good food!
If traveling w/ physically handicapped/senior citizens, you can enter/exit thru the side Emergency Exit glass doors, on the lower level near the Cafe & Sculpture Garden, by first speaking w/ a guard.
If you don't have time or the patience to visit inside the museum, go for a hike along the ocean en route to it. Incredible views of GG Bridge.
