If you're seeing a show and your tickets are at will call, you can save a lot of time by picking them up anytime before the show (even that day). The will call line the day of a show is a mad house.

Very beautiful location, the ushers at Carnegie hall are amongst the rudest people that I have dealt with in such a classy establishment. C.H. needs to invest in better ushers, DAMN THE RED COATS.
Sunday 2pm performance of the NY Youth orchestra was excellent, and much cheaper. This meant we could buy 2nd tier box seats to get the Carnegie experience for a fraction of the price
If you get a box seat, try to get seat #1, 2, or 3. You can still hear well and see well enough in the second row, but you might have a wall in seats 7 or 8 in a box

Beautiful, beautiful venue. However, the seats in the balcony offer less legroom than the cabin of a power wheels car. Mentally prepare yourself if you're over 5'4.
