Good food, great location!
The chicken enchilladas are the bomb !! And also the nacho speacialty !! Cheap , delicious & great service !!
Typical Mexican food
Had a great meal and the ambiance was spactacular
ALL GOOD HERE...:-)
Good quesadillas and margaritas.
Prices are good, food's not bad
Great restaurant with decent prices on the River Walk!
When you get a marg get an extra shot to go in it, makes it the best
Can't go wrong with the enchiladas late 👌
The Oldest Dining Locale @ The RiverWalk!!!!!....
Absolutely the best traditional Mexican food I've had in a long time. Wish I was a local. Outstanding and inexpensive.
Enjoyed the sangria swirl margarita.
Oldest family run restaurant on the river ! Buy local !! The chains are taking over
Charo beans and chili relleno were surprisingly good. Reasonably priced as well.
Typical tourist trap with crappy Mexican food. I bet they didn't serve this crap in the 40's when they first opened.
Food is excellent! (Much better than Mi Tierra)
go for the peach margarita and even if the wait is long ask for an outside table.
This place was AWFUL. The food and margaritas were horrible. Not real or fresh Tex-Mex food. It is more of a tourist attraction since it is a historical restaurant. Don't waste your money.
Good cheap food
Always good Tex-Mez
Taco salad good. Margarita just so so.
Beef quesadillas are great!
Great food, atmosphere,& staff!Go when it's nice out and enjoy the experience. Beware of the pigeons and ducks that want your food.I highly recommend this place...especially if you're from out of town!
The Casa Rio is a superb Mexican restaurant! It is always a treat. try the regular plate, which has samplings of lots of different good things.
Food is pretty meh. Didn't taste like anything I couldn't get back in Indiana...
As a margarita fan, I enjoyed mine a lot and the chili on a cold night outside hit the spot. Good price too.
El Rio was great ...highly recommended!
I was hungry and this was the first place I saw. Not worth it. Food was not that great at all. Had "a la carte" which was a soft taco and an enchilada. Neither were that tasty.
I've been coming here since I was 2 (over 35 yrs) and never disappointed
Nothing better than sharing a 60 oz margarita!!
Terrible service and mediocre food. Disappointing
Lots of food for great prices. Try the Chili con Carne!
Food arrived cold. Fast service.
Very, very bland. For being such a "historic" location, the food is NOT a reflection of that whatsoever. If you are looking for flavorless, Americanized cafeteria style food, this place is for you!
Great salsa and authentic TexMex for the Riverwalk. Go down to Mi Tierra or La Margarita for the real thing.
Had the green chicken enchilada and it was pretty yummy.
Always good food and good scenery.
Had a blast feeding the ducks n fish on the river. The cheese enchilada was tasty!
Enchilada Platter FTW
Feed the ducks on the Riverwalk!
Mediocre. The hostess was rude, the server got everything right, but wasn't very sociable. The fajitas dont even come on a skillet and were luke warm. Plus, the chips were greasy...
Decent food. Good service. Great ambiance. Beware of the ducks.
LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. The food is terrible. Tortillas, beans, and rice are store bought. They use frozen fajita meat and charge you $15 for the "fajita" plate.
Nice atmosphere. Can dine on the Riverwalk or inside.
Food that makes you feel like you're at Casa Bonita in Denver.
History and huge plates that taste above average ! I have been here numerous times and we usually take visitors to San Antonio here.
