There's nail-shaped shrapnel from the 1996 bombing at the fan-shaped statue in the "Quilt of Origins" below the first runner's knee.
Come at night, when eight 65-foot lighting towers enhance the beauty of the park. They are stylized reproductions of the markers that led ancient Greeks to major public events.

Paws in the Park: Atlanta Pet Rescue & Adoption will host a dog walk fundraiser and pet expo, Paws in the Park, on Sunday, September 25, from 12pm - 5pm at Centennial Olympic Park.

Amazing initiative: this park was partly funded by the donations of thousands coming from individuals who "bought" bricks engraved with a short message of their choice, still in the park.

Have a picnic and then fun at the park. The playground area is huge! It has a big kid park and a toddler park.. My girls absolutely loved it there.
