The muffuletta is a great start to your New Orleans visit. The sandwich is as big as your head so share with others. They are pre-made so the line moves quickly. Counter seating in the back.

Be sure to buy a muffaletta sandwich, made with Italian deli meats, cheeses and chopped-olive salad on round bread. Before the first bite, place a heavy napkin on your lap! -Travel Editor

The home of the OG Muffuletta. Each bite is a perfect blend of salty sliced meat, hearty, dense bread, and bright, tangy, crisp pickled vegetables. Read all about it

Just queue up, place your order quickly (one half muffuletta or one whole, if you're splitting, and we recommend a bag of cajun Zapp's chips), pay the man, and go. They're busy. And rightfully so.

The original muffuletta sandwich. A cool grocery store too. They have a ton of nice cheese and charcuterie from Italy. Spicy voodoo chips too.

Order a whole muff to go for the room to snack on while you're here. Then stop back and order a couple more for the plane (or car) ride home.

You go here for one reason only - the muffaletta... Be prepared to wait in a long line, and come hungry! The whole is enough for 2 hungry people or 4 who are looking to snack.

Don't get why everyone stayed in the store to eat. Order a muffuletta and take it to a shady spot in the Plaza de Armas a few blocks away.
