Renowned for cutting-edge scientific research, arts and athletics, UCLA is dedicated to the health and welfare of the world. Welcome to your future.
Named for UCLA’s longest-serving chancellor, YRL is newly renovated—it features state-of-the-art research facilities and collections. Demos of new research tools on Bruin Day, 4/14, from 1 to 3 p.m.
Modern and spacious, the YRL provides a great study atmosphere for both independent work and group projects. It offers free laptop rentals and study rooms you can reserve in advance.
The basement's got great chairs for studying, and big windows.
Look out for the guy in the hat and beard and sunglasses. He usually is on the 5th floor and WILL talk to you about aliens.
The library of choice for graduate students. Much quieter than Powell.
The renovated first floor is nice and all but it's usually packed on weekdays. The upper levels are kinda ugly but I get better study sessions there.
While your here, grab a coffee from the new cafe - they don't sweat you bringing drinks into the study areas anymore!
Fifth floor is always quiet and has great place to study.
Floors 2-5 need more power outlets.
The "Captain" chairs in the 1st floor Reading Room are very comfortable and perfect for a quick nap.
With the renovations, there are more places to connect your laptop. Look around! Especially downstairs :)
5th floor is always dead quiet. You can walk forever and not see a soul
Some terrific reading and conference spaces on the recently renovated first floor.
The ground floor is the nicest. The reading room had good printers.
You can reserve study rooms for up to 4 hrs (only 2 hrs max at the research common pods)!
Don't confuse the walls with white boards in the study rooms. Morons.
Fifth floor is great but look out for occasional stressed-out grad students about to lose their marbles from the pressure.
New remodeled and with Cafe 451 inside
Always a great place to study!!
Always quiet. Good to read a book
With the new downstairs renovations, the colorful couches make for a great place to study
