Free wifi. You should only need to show up an hour early for your flight. It's a small airport with short lines.
Waiting area at Gate 5 has a lovely view of the fall colored trees and mountains for those who may not see them again for awhile.
Big bag of Blue Ridge kettle corn from the newstand is the best anywhere. At $2.99 a bag, well worth a try!
Don't show up too early. There's not a lot to pass the time in the terminal.
Try the airplanes!
Free wifi is nice!
Forgot something? Target is just around the corner - south on 29 about 1/4 on your right.
Tougher security than communist Russia.
Coffee at the Market is priced be the cup size so go ahead and get a mocha.
Pick up a sandwich in the store, even if you'll be in another airport for lunch during a layover. Guaranteed its a better sandwich than you'll find at other airports! You'll be glad you thought ahead.
Apparently delays are not uncommon here.
Bottled drinks inside security are approx. $1.90 which is cheaper than most of the bigger airports so grab your drinks before you leave. :-)
If you're waiting at gate 5, there are desks with nice chairs & outlets by the window facing short term parking.
Arrived 2.11p for 2.28p flight. Like flying private; love cho
You used to be able to get away with being at the airport 30 mins before a flight if you weren't checking luggage. The airport's gotten busier and now you need 45 mins min
Parking: All lots are $8/day, so if you're there more than one day, park in short term, it's closer to the terminal!
Be sure to grab a magazine from the market for your flight
Our family was very happy to learn that Joshua from United Airlines works at this airport now. I have a disabled Mother that loves him so much. He makes you feel so happy and you can see he cares.
Daily parking rate has increased from $8/day to $10/day.
Nov2012: CHO says to arrive at least 90 min before 5-7AM departures for parking, ticketing and security (esp. over Thanksgiving). Terminal opens at 3:30AM; airline ticket counters open by 4:15AM
Very nice outside seating area at gate 5 with great views of the mountains.
As a frequent flyer, this is one of the best airports to leave out of (assuming your flight isn't delayed or canceled. If it is, good luck finding another flight.) No lines, friendly staff, free Wi-Fi
Nice small airport.
Attention rednecks: dip cans will set off the metal detector.
Avoid Delta...they are horrible!
Try not to laugh at the so called police in there little security hut that gets them angry
Avoid US Airways if at all possible.
Come early to listen to Christian soft rock piping through the entire airport
Market closes at 7pm on Sundays. Don't count in eating dinner at this airport. Pick something up on way in or out - much better bet.
Rocking chairs on the upper level. Free wi-fi
All of the flights aren't on the monitors so for a first time flyer I got a bit panicky until the crew assured me I was at the right gate. Pretty small, clean, and efficient.
Nice small airport, easy to get to, should only need to arrive 1 hr before flight.
Small & efficient! Love it!! :)
Nice small airport, if u want some VA souvinears, get @ shop near security entrance, as there's no place inside to get them.
Do NOT be in a hurry to get off and get your bags here...the speed (or lack thereof) of the baggage claim is disproportionately SLOW compared to the size of the airport...ONE baggage carousel.
No porn scanner at cho. Nice to see that gone.
If you need to charge your phone, there are 8 desks with power outlets on the far end of the upper level.
Get here early if you have to check in a bag. 2 times I've had issues with them b/c of small ticketing staff. 1st time guy was on his smoke break, 2nd time the line made the check in 1 min after time
Security here is much tougher on liquids/gels/lotions being screened separately than at larger city airports.
Great sandwiches from the Market, but no restaurants. Airport is small and a breeze but don't come less than 30 minutes before your flight or they may not be able to take your bag! Love this place!
Get the free WiFi, it's delish
Really nice people working throughout this airport
The store sells stale pastries and sandwiches bring your own.
TSA is very, very strict with liquids be sure they fit in the quart size bag.
Go out on the patio up on the roof through gate 5
I miss this place
At the airport with Allie and Jordan waiting for our flight to atlanta then to austin!
Have a jacket in the winter. Think they're trying to save on their electric bill!
Very small airport, so the whole process is a breeze.
Last United flight to Dulles leaves at 7pm weekdays.
