Free wifi. You should only need to show up an hour early for your flight. It's a small airport with short lines.

Waiting area at Gate 5 has a lovely view of the fall colored trees and mountains for those who may not see them again for awhile.

Big bag of Blue Ridge kettle corn from the newstand is the best anywhere. At $2.99 a bag, well worth a try!

Don't show up too early. There's not a lot to pass the time in the terminal.

Forgot something? Target is just around the corner - south on 29 about 1/4 on your right.

    Tougher security than communist Russia.

Pick up a sandwich in the store, even if you'll be in another airport for lunch during a layover. Guaranteed its a better sandwich than you'll find at other airports! You'll be glad you thought ahead.

    rcooper · December 29, 2011

Coffee at the Market is priced be the cup size so go ahead and get a mocha.

Apparently delays are not uncommon here.

Bottled drinks inside security are approx. $1.90 which is cheaper than most of the bigger airports so grab your drinks before you leave. :-)

If you're waiting at gate 5, there are desks with nice chairs & outlets by the window facing short term parking.

Market closes at 7pm on Sundays. Don't count in eating dinner at this airport. Pick something up on way in or out - much better bet.

    Ashley Hardee · April 10, 2011

Arrived 2.11p for 2.28p flight. Like flying private; love cho

You used to be able to get away with being at the airport 30 mins before a flight if you weren't checking luggage. The airport's gotten busier and now you need 45 mins min

    Craig Kennedy · February 17, 2012
  • Bob C.

Parking: All lots are $8/day, so if you're there more than one day, park in short term, it's closer to the terminal!

    Bob C · February 25, 2011
  • Steinar K.

Be sure to grab a magazine from the market for your flight

    Steinar Knutsen · October 10, 2010

Small airport, but don't underestimate the security line. Recommend getting there 1 hour ahead. Sometimes 3 or so flights will take off around the same time, leading to congestion.

Our family was very happy to learn that Joshua from United Airlines works at this airport now. I have a disabled Mother that loves him so much. He makes you feel so happy and you can see he cares.

Nov2012: CHO says to arrive at least 90 min before 5-7AM departures for parking, ticketing and security (esp. over Thanksgiving). Terminal opens at 3:30AM; airline ticket counters open by 4:15AM

Very nice outside seating area at gate 5 with great views of the mountains.

As a frequent flyer, this is one of the best airports to leave out of (assuming your flight isn't delayed or canceled. If it is, good luck finding another flight.) No lines, friendly staff, free Wi-Fi

    Nice small airport.

Yes, it's a small airport, but that's welcoming for a number of travelers. Still, expect most long flights to involve a layover at a busier hub.

  • Sasha F.

The market sandwiches and wraps are excellent in the morning but soggy by end of day!

All of the flights aren't on the monitors so for a first time flyer I got a bit panicky until the crew assured me I was at the right gate. Pretty small, clean, and efficient.

Nice small airport, if u want some VA souvinears, get @ shop near security entrance, as there's no place inside to get them.

    Cheryl Lougie · May 21, 2013
  • Deborah R.

Do NOT be in a hurry to get off and get your bags here...the speed (or lack thereof) of the baggage claim is disproportionately SLOW compared to the size of the airport...ONE baggage carousel.

  • Patrick L.

No porn scanner at cho. Nice to see that gone.
