    Amtrak has moved its ticket counter to just off the Great Hall but if you're just printing a ticket, using an Amtrak machine is far faster

    I hate the new Metro Lounge. Red caps can't help people, your luggage isn't watched by Red caps anymore, and for 1st class passengers...getting to your train is a goat rope.

    Day use lockers are excellent value - Jumbo lockers as big enough for two carry on suitcases and go for $18/day.

    This is a huge station. It's pretty simple to navigate though. There's ample signage everywhere. Gotta love that.

    Do not eat at Robinsons Ribs. The guy who was serving food was washing down the wall behind the deep fryer. He did not wash his hands before preparing food. Sooo gross!!!!

    If you're trying to grab a taxi after your train arrives, your best bet is to walk a block away from the station and hail from there. Avoid the taxi stand.

    Don't miss the great hall. If you're coming from the South concourse, go past the baggage claim and make a right. North, past the Metra ticket windows and then left.

    If you are in Chicago & don't want to lug your luggage around! Union Station has nifty storage lockers which you can rent and be hands free while you roam clickty clicking your way in downtown!

    Total lack of cust service. train delayed 2hrs -NEVER gave update to est new time. No place to sit, no org when boarding and it was a mad house. Amtrak needs to take lessons from Southwest Airlines!!

    If you have access to the Metropolitan Lounge (if you are a Amtrak Guest rewards Select Plus member, Sleeping Car Passenger and Business Class passenger) use it as you get free drinks and snacks

    If you're in the north loop and heading south, enter through the stairs near the opera house and cut through the Amtrak area. This good for avoiding traffic lights and bad weather for a couple blocks.

    You save 8 seconds by walking on the escalator...and it's not worth knocking people on the left over. Don't be a dick, use the stairs if you are going to miss your train by 16 seconds.
