Fristad = Freetown. Located at Christianshavn in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Smoking and sale is tolerated here, so expect perpetual whiffs of weed to follow you around everywhere. Food was decent and they sell home brew beer too.
The locals claim the green light district is now run by the gangs. While I have no idea how true that is, it feels much, much sketchier than I expected from a hippie commune area.
This place is sick. The stalls, the food, the music, the atmosphere, the freedom.
Cheapbeer & coffeefrom 9 am to 5 am 7 dayd s week! Good smoke, too...
Walk around here in a sunny day. Take your time to admire the creativeness of the people living here. There is a lot of cool houses and street art. Leave your camera at home, photos are forbidden.
A place out of time! Have a walk on a sunny day
With 850 residents as a large commune, it is regulated by a special 1989 law that transferred supervisory powers from the municipality to the state.
Grab a beer, smoke if you'd like, walk around, people are friendly here. Enjoy.
Green light district, loads of good art and crafts, alternative lifestyle. Take your time, it really is worth a visit
No photos allowed so keep your cameras down.
Pictures is not welcome, hippie place, don't take your children, drugs everywhere
No pictures allowed, it's a free town within a town with an interesting history!
A must-see in Kopenhagen. Have a drink and some tasty food at Nemos Kitchen. Best to go there before dark.
No photo. Don't run. Don't cry. If you are here, you should do it
Forget about the bulldogs (human and canine) and go to the other side of the bridge on Syddyssen/Midtdyssen. Much more relaxed and secluded.
Happy happy ...
Sort of like a Groundhog Day memorial to Glastonbury festival circa 1995. Expect baggy cargo pants and furtive paranoid glances. Wonder what the funny smell was from?
Green light District 💚
A secluded artistic community filled with talented musicians, creative architecture and expert botanists. Highly recommend.
Go when the sun is out
Quite very different...
Great place to sit and relax!
Stroll, explore, and keep your camera in your bag. It's the green light district.
Pretend you're in Hamsterdam from The Wire
Hippie commune turned major tourist attraction. Laid back, relaxed atmosphere. Great place to go in nice weather. Be sure to BYOB and keep your camera in your bag - that's a big no-no here.
The city's best falafel
Go and behave! Ure gonna have a great time !
Fri hash! Does not mean they will give you hash for free. I'm just sayin.
Don't run, don't take pictures and bring your children!

Just reserve one day in your trip for this place and go.
Great place! Especially during the sumner.
No photos. Be nice. Check out the sports club if you can - though you may need a member/local ;)

Avoid the cheese, it's sour.
Forget "utopia", today it's just a matter of alternative marketing strategies...
Is without a doubt one of Copenhagen's main tourist attractions, with workshops, cafes and distinctive architecture. - Copenhagen haven't been unlocked before being here. (Respect the no photo signs).
a commune from the 70s
