Tips: Choose carefully your ticket and buy it online. Or else you will spend 1 hour minimum queueing outside. Also don't accept "help offers" from people around the city, unless they wear orange vest

This is one time when joining a guided group is acceptable. Pick the right guide and the'll get you past the queues and inside in no time, then you can ditch the group and explore at your own pace.

If you can get a ticket for the Vatican "Under the Stars" it's well worth it! There are only a few people allowed in each night...this means no long queue, and no crowds inside either!

Be properly dressed. For women, dresses above knee can cause problem getting in.As a work around I have seen girls wrapping scarfs around their waists to make their dresses look longer.

The best time to go is really early in the morning so there are not a lot of people. Its best to go to the museum first and the Basilica after. Museum is free on sundays!
