So much to see and so little time. Expect to spend at least 6 hours including rests. Be sure to bring something to cover knees and shoulders before entering the Basilika - especially the women : rules

The Vatican may be the tiniest country in the world but it's a state all the same, having its own bank. Here, the ATM instructions are in Latin, so you can check your bank balance in transitu.

If you can get a ticket for the Vatican "Under the Stars" it's well worth it! There are only a few people allowed in each night...this means no long queue, and no crowds inside either!

Don't go to the Vatican in the Monday's morning, it will be crowded. But if you be there around 4pm, it would be almost empty & comfortable to sights seeing.except May of course

The best time to go is really early in the morning so there are not a lot of people. Its best to go to the museum first and the Basilica after. Museum is free on sundays!

Be properly dressed. For women, dresses above knee can cause problem getting in.As a work around I have seen girls wrapping scarfs around their waists to make their dresses look longer.

This is one time when joining a guided group is acceptable. Pick the right guide and the'll get you past the queues and inside in no time, then you can ditch the group and explore at your own pace.

Be prepared to spend a lot of time here, maybe several days if you wish to explore the museums. In the summer museums are open until 10PM once a week.

Pay attention to the dress code (no tank tops/bare shoulders/shorts). It would stink to wait in that long line just to get turned away! If you have to, buy a couple souvenir scarves to cover up!
