My wife and I came on a date night in St. Louis, and we had a blast! Definitely going to bring our (future) kids here. Not sure if the extra $$ is worth it for the roof, but it is fun for the slides.

The most unique museum you'll ever visit! Ride the Ferris wheel on the roof then grab a drink. Jump in the ball pit after you've gone down the 5 story slide. Great toddler area.

One of the best places to visit downtown, whether you're a kid or adult. There's something for everyone, especially if you don't mind crawling around, going down 10 story slides, etc. Always great fun

At the City Museum in St. Louis, it's all about play. Wear closed-toed shoes and enjoy two 10-story slides, a circus, funhouse, playground and architecture made of fascinating salvaged objects.
  • Khrystal K. D.
This is such a fun place created from salvaged architecture and industrial pieces. It's a treat for the eyes. There are labyrinths, slides several stories high, a rooftop amusement park, & aquarium.

I've been coming here for years and I never get bored with it. Wear old cloths that you don't care about. Bring a childhood sense of wonder and don't be afraid to challenge yourself. But just have fun

If you don't like to play then this is not the place for you. BUT if you like to play and have fun and be a kid, this is the coolest place on earth. I've never been anywhere more awesome than this.

Awesome for all ages. (I personally wouldn't bring kids too young to understand basic safety, though.) Bring a flashlight and bandaids. You might scrape or bump yourself, but you'll still have fun.

The City Museum has moved up to the top of my list museums to visit. It has everything! Adults, you're in for a workout! I would suggest bringing water to hydrate, you will need it.

Consider visiting on a Fri or Sat night. They are open until 1 AM, have a bar inside for adult refreshments and live music. And you won't have to dodge a see of small kids everywhere you go.

Pay the extra few dollars for the roof ticket. The view from the Ferris wheel is unparalleled! The world aquarium is also well worth the ticket... Do it all, it's money very well spent!

The restaurant is on the 3rd floor. Within 5 minutes of arriving for the first time ever, someone asked me that. Now I know, and you do, too! Also, there is one elevator. Strollers get annoying fast.

The museum is fantastic! DO NOT park in the lot directly across N 16th Street from the museum. Numerous reports of burglary and theft. We had an iPad stolen, other people had their van stolen.

If you can't park, it's too crowded and not worth the hassle. Otherwise, it's very fun! I have 3 pointers: 1. Don't wear flip flops/ sandals. 2. Take a backpack instead of a purse. 3. Knee pads.

Get here early and go outside and beat the STL heat. The line for the big slide inside the west wall can be long at times. Keep an eye on it and hop in when you can.

It was fun and our kids enjoyed it, but it is seriously dirty. The animals in the aquarium are not well cared for - the tanks are filthy and many of the fish showed signs of injury/stress.

AHH this place is amazing. The extra $5 is worth it for the rooftop, but the aquarium not so much. See if you find the secret way to the 10-story slide...

It's a $12 ticket + $5 for rooftop access. It was worth the extra money to get out on the roof. Awesome view! Also, make sure you go down the 10 story slide!

I love going to the city museum but only when it isn't crowded. This last time I decided not to stay because there was just too many people to have any fun, but it was a Friday day during the summer!

Don't take your belongings with you (or really secure them), you don't want to drop or break them with all the running, climbing and crawling you'll be doing.

Pay the extra $5-$10 for the roof. If you want a butt kicker, get to the roof, climb up the praying mantis slide. Then slide down it. (1)

Climb the spiral stairs to get to the top of their "10-Story Cave Slide." It's worth the workout for 20-25 seconds of sliding to the bottom.

Havent been by since the owner died; it's a mad house. Lots of yelling, screaming, kids running wild, everyone pushing, staff only semi-interested in being there. Havent gone back in a while.
