People tend to check in during these times:
break outdoors 😆 #jurybreak #mydayinla #outdoors
Free wifi.if you have a power hungry device then bring your charger. My ipod came in handy. Keep music low enough to where you can hear your name being called. Bring snacks but try not to eat them all
I asked the guard today 9/30/14 and he said jurors are not allowed to use the employee entrance.
Can't complain, hella fast WiFi. SSID: lacguest
Great place to nap.
Grab a single study booth by the vending machines. More privacy
Online orientation doesn't guarantee you a later check-in time.
Take the online orientation so your report time is 9:30. Lots of lunch options a short walk away at Grand Central Market. Take the stairs to 2nd floor and catch an elevator down to jump the line ;)
It'll be a long day and outlets are scarce. Bring an extension cord and your chargers.
... where hopes and dreams go to die.
Parking at the Disney Music Hall is awesome, but makes for a 10-15 min walk to the courthouse. You can cut though the park on the way which will save a little time.
Def complete the orientation online and report at 9:30am instead of 7am.
Park at the Disney concert hall. Cut thru the park to get to the courthouse, that will save you about 7 mins walk. Take the stairs if you can handle it. Oh and no glass bottles in the courthouse.
Home away from home for DA Rachel Knight, the protagonist in Marcia Clark's thrillers.
Take the advice of another tipster - try Spring Street Smokehouse! Take Spring street over the 101, jog right a bit...nice beak from downtown crowds, think small Joes Crab Shack, but BBQ...10 min walk
small room is clutch. plugs to set up shop or nap :]
Slowest, most crowded elevators ever, plan on spending 20 mins waiting (or take the stairs.) At least there's free public WiFi!
Try the Spring Street Smokehouse for lunch!
No ceramic cups, so if you have a travel mug, make sure it's plastic.
Give yourself extra time to pass through security, and wait for the elevators. It takes a while. If you're waiting for jury selection, bring a conputer or your phone charger. It's a long wait!
Bring a sweater. You could hang meat in these courtrooms!!
Watch out in L.A., they actually think adults can be guilty of fare evasion!! What am I, 3?!?! I want to be reimbursed for 2 trips of wasting my time. Ugggggh!!!
Admire the framed 1791 Constitution Flag in the Juror Assembly room, 253. Then thank your fellow citizens for their service.
Food is unappetizing.
Slow and crowded elevators. Everyone so serious. No bueno.
Take the stairs if you can. Riding the elevator here is like hand-to-hand combat.
Look around the elevators and find the exit doors, Waite till someone walks out and take the stairs up! Same when going down! You get a smart workout! And keeps you awake in this boring space.
Known as the Criminal Courts Building and built in 1970 at a cost of $33.7 million. With 850,000 square feet. Notable trials, O.J Simpson, Trial of Conrad Murray for Death of Michael Jackson

Wifi is free but the jurors room blocks social media sites on the computer. Use your smartphone instead. And thank you for being a good citizen!
Becareful! Stay calm people will push there way t though to the elevators. If your hot headed. Count to 10
Only 2 elevators work for floors 1-11 so be ready.
Jurors don't have to stand on that long security line. Use the door for employee entrance. The people working there may not tell you.
Go into the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center to view the artwork. Glass panels, tapestries, and outdoor benches comprise the memorial.
Use the 12th floor elevator and walk down to the 11th floor.
Parking is a solid 15 min walk from the courthouse. Elevator takes about 5 min, unless you're a person who cuts in line. So be prepared. But also don't sweat being up to 30 min late.
If u have a laptop or iPad, get here early so u can be in front of the line as u walk into the holding room. Make sure to sit next to a outlet, u will kill you better before the day ends if u don't.
Park at the Disney music hall and take the B-dash bus for 50 cents. Take 3 mins, better then 15-20 minute walk.
It's always better to go if you have to go late, rather than have a bench warrant!
No vending machines on the 11th floor, not even coffee :(
There's another security checkpoint on the 9th floor.
9th floor is where the murder trials are held
The snack shops are lame.
Bring your phone charger. Killing time killed my battery.
Security and elevators are a nightmare before 9:30a. Plan on 15-20 mins AFTER the 10 min walk from Disney Concert Hall #juryduty
Bring some magazines, laptop and snacks. I would try to do the jury orientation online so you don't have waste 2 hrs of your time and wake up so early.
Also, bring a good book. Or two.
If you're here for jury duty on the 11th floor everyone will be crowding the elevators for floors 1-11. Instead, take the elevators for fl 12-19. Go to 12 and walk down the stairs to save time.
