One of the largest fountains in the world, it runs from 8am - 10:45pm daily, from April to October, depending on weather. On May 26, 1927, the Fountain officially opened and was designed by Edward H. Bennett to represent Lake Michigan with 4 sea horses to symbolize the 4 states tha...
Lights & music every night in the summer.
Just a beautiful place. Lovely to sit by on a lunch hour. Great place to get photos.
Absolutely beautiful fountain
Go! It's beautiful!
La fuente está bonita pero el show en el día no vale la pena, solo sube un chorro de agua alto al centro y eso es todo, quizas de noche valga la pena.
This is a neat little piece of history. Just do a google search and you'll learn that this fountain is a beast!
Don't miss the Fountain, if you are in Chicago !!! Beautiful, Romantic and Relaxing fountain. The sound of water and music is worth going. Highly Recommended 👍 👍 👍
An awesome piece of art; a symbol of Chicago.
Supposedly at night there is a light show, but wouldn't know since it does not operate during the winter. Beautiful regardless.
After a run or a bike ride in the summer, stand near the fountain for a refreshing mist of cool water
Great view of the city and lake!
Just add water (d'oh!)
Hermosa! Recomendadisimo venir al anochecer para fotos bellisimas!
Absolutely gorgeous. One of my favorite picture spots I saw on my weekend trip
As seen in the opening credits of married with children
With city buildings in the background, it is really gorgeous.
Beautiful fountain. Snack bar close by for drinks or a light lunch.
Great people-watching space: many wedding parties, Segway tours, and others
Really pretty at night with the lights synched with the music.
I never get tired of this fountain, it impresses me every time.
This has got to be my favorite fountain in the world. Yet.
Da kids loved it
Great fountain by the water, close to Millenium Park!
People will ask you for money.
Just like from Married With Children
I usually go out of my way to drive by and get a glimpse of this superb fountain.
From April through mid-October, it produces a 20-minute water show every hour, with the center jet shooting 150 feet (45.7 m) high. Designed by Edward H. Bennett, it was dedicated in 1927.
Don't forget your tripod!
With the lights,it is the prettiest!
There's usually parking nearby on Columbus, but it's 6.50 an hour
We got there right when the water display went on! It spouts every hour on the hour for 20 minutes, 150 feet into the air.
Prepare coins for parking or swipe your credit card. Nice place to hang out.
Think of Al Bundy while you're here.
At the top of each hour, the fountain congress alive!
Prettier to see at nite
Great view on a sunny day.
You can't visit Chicago and not go to Buckingham Fountain! Don't miss the regular water shows and evening color-light shows from April to October.
Romantic! Beautiful place to visit in Chicago
Very relaxing place to just come and sit.
Modeled on a fountain at the Palace of Versailles but nearly twice as large, it circulates 1.5 million gallons of water from Lake Michigan. – Green Guide Editor
Not so nice in January.
The fountain represents Lake Michigan, with each sea horse pair symbolizing the states of Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and Indiana, that border the lake.
Public bathrooms here!!!
