If I had to choose only one bar in New York City, Clover Club would be it. They have fun Gilded Age-ish snacks and signature drinks, plus lots of champagne. -Alex McCord, Real Housewives of New York C
My favorite cocktail bar for old favorites and new inventions--worth the trip. -Anita Lo, Top Chef Masters
Killer brunch! Baked eggs with truffles and leeks are delicious. Nice side of greens and perfect type of thick sour bread toast. Can't go wrong. I cleaned the plate.
This is the place to get unique old-school NYC drinks. The bowtied bartenders can make you anything you want…or didn’t know you wanted. Also try the duck fat crisps.
Sweet talk the hostess and score a table/sofa in the back room. Order your favorite fizz to show you mean delicious business.
Congratulations, you have found one of Esquire's Best Bars in America. Clover Club is a grown-up bar for grown-ups, where "grown-up" doesn't mean "pretentious." Order the New York sour. It's great.
The Southside Fizz may be the most delicious, most refreshing, alcoholic beverage I've ever had. Try it.
Order the seasonal Harvest punch, a medley of mulled apple cider, Martinique and Jamaican rums, Cognac and apple wheels.
Try to sit in the corner seat (F`14) at the front of the house bar. From F14 u can see the whole bar and watch the barkeepers at their craft. Get deviled eggs and an Manhattan cocktail to off.
If you haven't visited the bar's back parlor room, be sure to do so. Complete with its own bar, a roaring fireplace, and cozy couches perfect for lounging, it's the ideal place to go on a cold day.
This new classics–focused venture is co-owned by Julie Reiner of Manhattan's renowned Flatiron Lounge. We suggest the Clover Club (gin, dry vermouth, lemon juice, raspberry syrup).
The happy hour has Some great drinks for half off at the bar. Also some bar snacks. Best deal anywhere on Smith
For Prohibition Style cocktails sans “speakeasy”-style pretension (read: long lines, no groups of more than four). Don’t forget to order the lamb burger. -Anna Maltby, MC Editor
They specialize in drinks made in the pre-Prohibition days. So reminisce todays gone by with a swizzle.
For a taste of their mastery, order an Athol Brose #3. (food-wise: the lamb burger is where it's at)
Disclaimer: These aren't cocktails for the faint of heart. Re: "The 11th Hour" or "The Improved Whiskey"
Cover club is NOT Clover Club
Ask for Brad. He'll mix up the best southern-style cocktail this side of the Mason Dixon.
If you're getting along well with your waitress, she might fix you with a cocktail that is not on the menu, just based on your current craving...
High quality cocktails. If you like an Old Fashion, try their Improved Whiskey Cocktail.
The Bee's Kiss is not on the menu, but it's amazing! It's like a honey-topped cloud floating on top of your drink. The waitstaff might not know what you are asking for, but the bartender will.
Amazing. Love Wednesday night jazz. So legit.
Fantastic drinks, amazing mac & cheese (with bacon), outdoor seating, live jazz, and excellent service. This is the best place on Earth.
Ask the bartender to make you something with sloe gin. Sit back. Watch magic being made. Drink and enjoy.
When did Clover Club turn into such a shit show?
Order an "Old Fashioned" & ask that they use their recommended Rye whiskey! You won't regret! Great drinks, great atmosphere, & the bartenders actually know what they are doing.
Fantastic brunch, even better cocktails and ample seating make this place worth the trek if you are a non-Brooklynite.
Best Old Fashioned in NYC by far
Mr. Tangerine Man Cocktail is great.
The Green Swizzle - gin, falernum, lime, absinthe, soda, bitters. Delicious.
Gin Bloodys! The special omelette is generally really good.
While they are no longer on the menu, the Mister Brown and the F-14 are satisfying. May their recipes never die.
Overcome your hesitation and get the Green Giant. Super-tasty and refreshing. And yes, those are sugar snap peas.
Try the Pilot's Dread! It's like an alcoholic apple pie.
Order the delicious fries and don't order ketchup.
You think it's just a fancy cocktail bar, but the brunch is excellent. Skip the lines at Cafe Luluc and get the chorizo naked eggs. Good Bloody Mary too.
If you really know how to drink- with class and an appreciation for drunkenness- this is the best of the best.
If you come for brunch, order the Kickflip. Or don't. I'm not the boss of you.
"Improved" whiskey cocktail = whiskey + absinthe. My favorite drink in NY.
Plain awesome. And they're open till at least 3 - 4 am.
Bring friends and share a punch bowl. Or three.
If you like Whiskey the "Improved Whiskey Cockatail" is a solid bet.
Two words: Old fashioned!
