In prefer the late night Nasty Show. Hit and miss but edgier. Also, go during the week if you want the random famous person (like Louis CK or Chris Rock) to try their material.
Always crazy and lively, and watch out cause you never know what famous comedian may pop in for an impromptu stand up presentation. Seen lots of celebs pop in and perform as well as hosting the night.
I love that you can make a spontaneous decision to come here, hang out in the standby line, and most likely get in and end up seeing great comedy and often unannounced special guests.
Make sure you get there with time to spare. 2 drink + $12 min spend per person -- totally worth it! Pick the late night show for greater chance of known comics showing up. Amazing experience!!
The Comedy Cellar is an absolute must-do NYC comedy experience. Big names will often show up to close the show. They pack the customers in tight. Buy your tix ahead of time online.
Most intense bouncers I've ever seen and it's definitely a tourist paradise. But you will always see some great comedy and at least a B-list celebrity. $12 cover and two-drink minimum.
This place never disappoints. But for ultimate fun, go to the 12:15am show. All the comics and the audience are drunk so it's extra enjoyable. Make a reservation online.
This is the place that puts all other comedy clubs to shame. If you didn't get tickets, show up about 1.5 hrs before showtime to get on the standby list.
Check the website after 5pm on the day of the show to try and get free cover. If not, make reservations at the Olive Tree Cafe next door. There's a two drink minimum but this place is worth it.
If you're looking for a fun night out, this is the place to go. The nights are never dull here with all the talented comedians that walk in through their doors.
A cozybasement which happens to substitute as the best comedy club in the city. For $12 and two items, you get to see the some of the best comedians in New York. A village gem.
the best comedy club in New York City, also a great eatery next-door, the Olive Tree Cafe, very veg and veganfriendly. Some comedy greats I've met & gone back-n-forth with: Dave Attell & Colin Quinn
Unless you're ok with getting roasted, say no when they as you if it's ok to be put in the front row! If you're cool with that then go for it! Best seats in the house! 2 drink minimum PP.
Definitely a must visit if you are a comedy fan. You never know who is going to drop in and do a set. Just please dont be a douchebag and be disrespectful and talk while a performer is on.
Chris Rock showed up to do a set and close the show - the only thing that could be better is Danny McBride showing up as Kenny Powers. And that will likely never happen.
Great for a night out with friends. They usually have a decent line up. You'll be kicked out after the show is done for the next group (all business), there are many places around one can get a drink.
Awesome place. Affordable prices, but make reservations beforehand. Also make sure you're prepared before you get there because the bouncers can be rather pushy.
Even without a reservation on a Friday night, you can get in by putting your name on the standby list 1 hour before the show starts. There's bound to be no-shows.
Famous from Louie, Comedian, & stories told about this legendary room. Booker Estee Adoram. Drop-ins Chris Rock,Dave Chappelle,Lou CK, NY’s best comics. Not for the sensitive. Classic NY comedy exprnc
On the weekends, you can show up when the show before the one you want to see starts and put name on standby list. No need for the line, put name in, go drink and come back at showtime.Weekends only.
