What to get: Chicken-liver pâté with shallot marmalade; oil-cured tomatoes on toast; fried calamari and shrimp with zingy rémoulade; grilled flatiron steak with anchovy vinaigrette.
Definitely try the avocado w/ the pistachios on grilled bread. It's fantastic! For wine I recommend the La Montesa, Rioja, Palacios Remondo 2004 from Spain. Potent!
Call 30 minutes ahead to snag a table (they don't take reservations). The pistachio & avocado toast is a must-order!
Cork is not only an exceedingly popular wine bar, it's also a gourmet market for those special holiday meals you'll be making at home.
Cork matches its wine selection with an equally impressive cheese menu. It's fairly economical, as well, at three for $12, five for $18, and seven for $24.
Great wine and food. The Duck Confit is the best thing on the menu. After that I'd say the Brioche and Sea Bream/Orata are tied for second. Change of pace? Pete is one of the best mixologists in DC
they've got a great cheese selection to go with the wine... get a tray and try a few
Hello to all at the Cork Bar in Washington DC from all at the Charity HQ of @ a pennyforwater & penny4NASA
Goes without saying that the avocado bruschetta continues to be a revelation.
avocado toast!!!! if you come here and do not order this it is a tragic story.
Bitches say B+! a tasty meal at a reasonable price. I would go again to experience the avocado toast and cinnamon rolls—as well to check out some other items on the menu
Butternut squash soup is amazing! Also, love the cheese selection
Wine #41 is fantastic... nice and spicy!
get the avocado on toast appetizer, SO FREAKIN GOOD. they serve up one of the best fried calamari in the city. for dessert, get the "pass the cookies" dessert wine!
Avocado & pistachio : YES!!!
Get the avocado cold dish. Soooo good!
Now serving brunch! Get the avocado toast and a glass of wine or a mimosa flight.
Share the plates, they're big
The restaurant is known for its wine list, and the rotating, curated flights are a good opportunity to sample some of the more usual selections from it. [Eater 38 Member]
Begin with a plate of cheese
Who knew that pistachios and avocado was a match made in heaven? Get a little bit of everything and trust the waiter's suggestions. Good for groups of 4-6 as well as dates.
Their recently launched Sunday brunch menu inncludes not only its popular small plate but also delicious things like bacon cheddar scones and a baked egg in a parmesan crust.
Must: Avocado & pistachio toast. The small/large size of calamari are comparable. Travis (server w/the amazing arm artwork) gives the best recommendations!
The Calamari appetizer it great especially the Caper Remoulade that goes with it.
Excellent wine list. The organic chicken and the toasted tomatoes with balsamic vinaigrette on toasted baguettes are to die for!
It's a nice atmosphere. They keep the music low to allow conversation. Also, I enjoyed the flatbread.
Great place for a date. The small plates were really good, especially the eggplant flatbread and the tortellini.
Tortellini is a must try.
Huge wine selection and delicious food. Call ahead and they can add you to the wait list if there is one.
Delicious small plates and well thought out wine list. Be bold and ask for something interesting, the bar tender will oblige.
Wine and cheese. what more could you want?
From Washingtonian: Mimosa Flight
When the place is half empty they wont give you a table unless you order three plates...
Great clams and calamari
They really need to see there's a world full of wine out there, beyond France, Italy and Spain. Friendly staff and good taste, but portions are tiny...
GET THE MUSHROOMS! :-)
Great wine bar. Excellent food. Avocado toast with pistachios is wonderful.
Apple crostata is amazing with the rose ice wine (#44) or honey wine (#42).
The food is fabulous! Try the avocado and beef cheek!
Ask the bartender for advice they are helpful
Braised artichoke hearts (with stems!) fregola, fresh mint, dill, feta...Yeah. Get it.
Come for brunch, the cinnamon rolls are insanely good.
The Domaine Billard Père et Fils, Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune 2009 (Pinot Noir) is the best I've ever had. I had three glasses, just to be sure. Pair with cheese and charcuterie and leave happy.
über-trendy Logan Circle wine bar, “a huge array of wines by the glass without an outrageous markup” is paired with “delightful” New American small plates with an “extra edge of creativity”
A true wine bar in every sense, you can't go wrong with a glass of Bordeaux here.
