This tiny restaurant serves some of the best locally-sourced food we've had in a town wild for locally-sourced food. And, yes, their famous burgers are amazing. [Eater 38 Member]
Order the burger. Avoid everything else. Savor the burger. Wipe hands thoroughly. Exit transformed.
The Counter Benedict is the perfect hangover cure. Thick slices of Niman Ranch pastrami and two gooey-yolked eggs perched on a flaky, open-faced homemade biscuit.
If you are not sitting at the counter having a conversation with the chef about how he loves his ingredients and the dishes he makes, you are missing out!
This retro diner serves classics with a Texas twist. It's so tiny that you'll inevitably wait for a table, but it's worth it for dishes like the Counter Benedict.
Avoid going with more than one other person for seating's sake. Best bun around.
get the grilled pimento cheese sandwich. careful, it's not for amateurs.
The eggs benedict is pretty solid. Best part about it is that they use pastrami for the meat. Hollaindaise sauce is a little lemony depending on the day you go
Ask for melted butter to put on your pancake. The butter that comes with it is hard and it can be frustrating to spread.
One heart is not enough for this place. Simple things done very well. Fantastic burger. Fantastic bacon. You should eat here.
If you like blueberry pancakes, this is your spot.
Can't go wrong with any of the following: (in no particular order) burger, breakfast tacos, blueberry pancake (w/ honey butter) and the biscuits & gravy. Sit at the counter & watch the magic happen.
I LOVE the breakfast tacos. Just the right amount of food.
Ask what brand the soy milk is.
Local food close to the convention center! Try the biscuits and gravy or the super popular burger.
Possibly the best burger in town.
Ask for some homemade jam with breakfast!
Order something with bacon.
They close at 4pm...
definitely get the grilled cheese. what the burger lacks, it makes up for.
Perfect cup of coffee...smooth and bottomless for 2.75.
The Blueberry Pancakes: DO IT. Trust me.
Best Pure Burger I've ever had. Amazing beef and crazy-good bun. Perfectly cooked (get medium rare). You won't regret it!
The egg sandwich is great!
Had the biscuits and gravy was not dissapointed
Best burgers in Austin!
Great burgers & salads but when I want breakfast food they have it down.
Portions are small, quality is good.
The Micheladas are delicious! If you like them spicey
Every single time I eat here it is the best steak I've ever had. I also like the sweet potato fries and even the fruit sides are always fresh and excellent.
Breakfast Tacos are excellent choice
Burger, yes. Sweet potato fries, noooooo!
Eggs. Bacon. Biscuit. Fresh fruit. Top 5 Breakfast. And/but I'm a New Yorker so take that as you will...
Breakfast tacos, boom! Legit!
If you appreciate good biscuits, you must try them at Counter! Some of the best I've ever had. Comes with warm butter & a side of strawberry jam.
Breakfast burritos are the jam
The chicken burger is spicy but delicious. Be sure to add goat cheese! Yum!!
Can't go wrong with the Counter Burger or the blueberry pancakes! Love that breakfast is served all day!!
The pancakes are awesome
I would murder someone for that pimento grilled cheese.
Five words: cantaloupe & mint leaf soup (and lovely, weird waitresses)
Gdamn an extra $3 each to add shrooms and bacon...but gdamn was that one of the best burgers I've ever had or what?
Favorite burger in Austin. Get it with the pimento cheese and sweet potato fries!
How can 1 tiny place create both the best blueberry pancakes AND the best breakfast tacos?! I always get 1 of each.
