This tiny restaurant serves some of the best locally-sourced food we've had in a town wild for locally-sourced food. And, yes, their famous burgers are amazing. [Eater 38 Member]

Order the burger. Avoid everything else. Savor the burger. Wipe hands thoroughly. Exit transformed.

  • Austin American-Statesman

Try the Counter Burger. The sweet, buttery bun forms a toasty halo around the beef. Draped with Cheddar, the Rubenesque hand-formed patty works in juicy accord with Bibb lettuce, red onion and tomato. Read more

This tiny spot offers excellent crab cakes, quail, and hanger steak alongside more typical diner fare. The Counter Benedict with pastrami and grilled pimento cheese sandwiches are standouts. Read more

The Counter Benedict is the perfect hangover cure. Thick slices of Niman Ranch pastrami and two gooey-yolked eggs perched on a flaky, open-faced homemade biscuit.

If you are not sitting at the counter having a conversation with the chef about how he loves his ingredients and the dishes he makes, you are missing out!

This retro diner serves classics with a Texas twist. It's so tiny that you'll inevitably wait for a table, but it's worth it for dishes like the Counter Benedict.

Avoid going with more than one other person for seating's sake. Best bun around.

The eggs benedict is pretty solid. Best part about it is that they use pastrami for the meat. Hollaindaise sauce is a little lemony depending on the day you go

Ask for melted butter to put on your pancake. The butter that comes with it is hard and it can be frustrating to spread.
