The quick walk into the town centre is closed for building works, follow the signs for a slightly less scenic (is anywhere in this town scenic?!) route.

Huge lifts to all platforms big enough for bikes etc., but just not obvious to find when you arrive from the ticket hall. Just go onto Platform 1 and turn left: the lift is opposite Customer Services.

There's a train guard with the loudest voice in the world ever working here. He makes the whole platform shake with his shout. So loud it's hilarious!

The train from Cov to Leamington Spa and vice versa is almost always late. On the rare occasions that it is on time, you have to sit down in shock ;-)

Need to get to London early? The first two trains of the day classify as off peak. So if you can make the 5:50 or 6:11 you can save money!

If leaving the Station for the City Centre by foot, there is another route over the Ring Road which takes u towards the Council Hse and CovUni more quickly. Just turn R out of the Station, then L.

The platform 1 to London & the overtaking tips are *generally* true. But in times of major disruption anything can happen, and it's first out not first in the the overtaking rule.

Don't buy from any of the outlets in the station unless you are in a rush, the retail park across the road has cheaper and nicer things. Also there is a newsagents nearby opposite the bus stops

The tip about trains overtaking isn't true. A slow train will either be held on the platform to make way for a virgin train or it'll happen at Birmingham international! Be wary when choosing trains!

Don't think you can buy your ticket on the train. You can't and you being thrown off slows the the trip down for the rest of us.

Trains between Coventry and Birmingham rarely overtake each other, thus generally your best to get on the first train to brum even if it's a slow one.
