Very good. Maybe not as good as the elevated NY reputation. Get the good morning & spicy redneck. In the BLT, the lettuce and tomato overpower the dog. Think Destination Dogs or Bark are better.
We did all the delicious sober work for you, and ate/ranked all 19 of the dogs they've got on hand, from the corn, to all things bacon-wrapped, to the veggie, just because we had to. Read more
We ordered a Crif pack, i liked the idea that the hot dog types are randomly chosen, it's exciting. The Tsunami, Jon Jon Deragon, Philly tube steak & the tots were all amazing. Waffle fries were bad.
This is the place to experiment with your Dog toppings! We’re fans of the jon-jon (cream cheese, scallions & everything bagel seeds) and the spicy red neck (bacon, chili, cole slaw & jalapenos).
Perfect for those late night munchies. All of their bacon-wrapped deep fried hot dogs are great, but I love the Tsunami, Spicy Redneck, and Jon-Jon Deragon best. Read more on WinstonWanders below!! Read more
"Get the Jon-Jon Deragon Dog hot dog at Jim Meehan's bar attached to Crif Dog, which comes with cream cheese, scallions, and everything bagel seeds. I wish I’d thought of it!" - Chef Wylie Dufresne Read more
Oh baby those cheese tots!!!! A small order is pretty big. And any bacon wrapped dog, especially the Lil Ma, which had peanut butter and pickles and potato chips (pregnancy craving joke?).
Sometimes you just need a gourmet hot dog. And when that happens I like to head to Crif Dog. The John John Derragon (wrapped in bacon) is my favorite, but peruse the menu and see what catches your eye
New Yorkers love hot dogs, duh. Now you can enjoy unique combinations of ingredients all for under $5. Make sure to try the Good Morning-bacon wrapped dog smothered with melted cheese and a fried egg
Best #hotdog in New York. They fry all their dogs and cook them special. Get one loaded up with chili and bacon. Go next door to PDT to get designer dogs from famous chefs (4 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
You haven't lived until you've been to Crif Dogs. Minimize the calorie bomb and conquer breakfast AND lunch with the Morning Jersey: a deep-fried frank wrapped in Taylor ham, topped w/ a fried egg.
My favorite way to eat a hot dog is with sauerkraut, now I have a second favorite---with bacon, Thank you Crif Dogs, Thank you very much!---and your fries are awesome too!
Jon-Jon Deragon. Small tots. (2 locations/truck) Then Tony & David Chang enter the hidden entrance to Please Dont Tell bar located next door for a few drinks and more dogs: Momofuku dog. Wiley dog.
I love this place, everyone should love this place. If you don't love this place I hate you. I generally go with at least a Good Morning, but have never had anything I didn't like
AWESOME dogs! Mostly famed for what's behind the phone booth, this hotdog shop is top dog (forgive the terrible pun). Excellent quality, awesome menu, amazing atmosphere, and delicious!
The hot dogs are amazingly delicious here. Definitely a place to go back to and eat especially with a group of friends. Even go on a date, the atmosphere there is great
TSUNAMI! You can never go wrong at Crif Dogs - wonderful selection but cramped space. But what do you expect when eating a hot dog? Gourmet Dining??? It's worth the trip to the East Village.
They make some of the best hotdogs in the City. You can go basic or try one of their fancy dogs. Can't go wrong but you should consider ordering 2 or 3.
Amazing alternative for PDT. Once I realized I could be eating a hot dog draped in pepperoni and drinking a miller high life, the need to go to the speakeasy lost it's appeal! Amazeballs!
The Chihuahua and the Spicy Redneck are great. The tater tots are also worth it. Also there is a secret speakeasy entrance in the phonebooth ; ) go in and pick up the phone.
SPICY REDNECK. Ask for extra cole slaw, chili, and raw onions. Be prepared to drool like a caveman. Fresh cutwafflecheese fries. Genesee cream ale beer. Glorious meal on St. Marks.
Very packed of drunk ppl, but this is the place you need to go in order to call and to get in the please don't tell speak easy, their dogs are not too bad.
Try. Sour Cheese dog with an egg and mustard. I have at least 3 a week:) Also, the staff are amazing; don't forget to tip them. They totally deserve it.
The telephone booth entrance to the speak easy is a fun gag. Hot dogs are the best in NYC. oh wait, I dont think they want the speak easy to be public info. oops
Creatively-adorned hot dogs are this late-night spot’s jam. Branch out from the usual ketchup and mustard routine into fried eggs, cream cheese and even Jalapeno peppers.
veggie dogz, breakfast dogz, cheese sauce, california dogz, tater tots. mix, match, come hungry and get creative, then order thirds. it's a doggie, dog tasty world down here.
The Good Morning Dog ($5), also pretty tasty as a late night snack, is a hot dog wrapped in bacon and padded with melted cheese and a fried egg. Read more
Hot dogs are cool. Secret phone booth entrance to fancy pre-prohibition bar and THEN eating hot dogs is cooler. Please Don't Tell. (4 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
Chili dogs are all right, but soda was halfway flat (unforgivable sin), and every counter and tabletop was greasy, with garbage all over the floor. That's "punk rock" though, like vintage Ramones 🎸
Got the Spicy Redneck with a smear of cream cheese. Perfection. Bacon wrapped dog with chili, jalapeño, and cole slaw. (4 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
I've never been one to secretly love processed cheese but I will dip the hell out of some tater tots in the nacho cheese goo. And I'll eat a deep fried hot dog on the side.
In what is surely Manhattan’s coolest phone booth, you’ll find the only public entrance to PDT…(if you don’t know, we won’t tell.) Just walk into the booth, pick up the phone and press a button Read more
Try the vegan dog, gloriously split and grilled like a 'regular' dog. I topped mine with sauerkraut, pineapple, and ample mustard, and teamed it with Pommes Frites' fries. Mmm. Junk food heaven.
Just order the Stoner Pack #1 for $10. You get 2 dogs and 1 side and it can be anything. Usually involves a Spicy Redneck, Chihuahua or a Tsunami when I've ordered. Plus, Chili cheese tots FTW.
The place is pretty good. The Hawaiian hot dog (wrapped in bacon, covered with pineapple, scallions, and teriyaki sauce) is my favorite. Kind of overpriced for what it is though. Fun spot to go to
The menu data on this place is wrong; it's definitely not $20-30 per entre. Get the Spicy Redneck. You'll probably be obliterated, but remember to be nice to the people that work there.
Spicy redneck, Chihuahua, and Tsunami are amazing. The burger is surpisingly great as well. Take care of the amazing staff and they'll take care of you
The tsunami dog is a must. Bacon, teriyaki, pineapple & green onions are the perfect combination of sweet and salty. Also, make fun of the PDT first timers. A non-stop show!
BLT & Morning Jersey are my faves. Took a non-hotdog-lover from San Francisco- she got the Spicy Redneck and LOVED it- said she would come again before going home. Also- tater tots! Read more
