The station is one of the more heavily-utilized on the system serving as a busy transfer point. Along with residential areas, the neighborhood surrounding Belmont contains many eclectic shops, bars, and restaurants and active nightlife.

Transfer point for the Red, Purple, & Brown line trains. During weekday rush periods, catch the northbound Purple Line running express to Howard! A time saver.:-)
If you're tired, there's an escalator! It's a bit hidden, opposite the mural.

Both platforms have exits down to George street at the far south end, if you either don't want or need to walk along Belmont. Ignore the pointless "Emergency Exit Only" signs on the doors, just push.
