We’re not sure how Fidel would feel about it, but life’s a lot of fun at this Havana haven. Get the fiesta rolling with one of the multiple varieties of sangria, from classico to coconut.
Get a little taste of everything and get their $4 appetizers! Bacon wrapped dates and ceviche are a must! And the potato stuffed things are good too!
Service sucks and owner will seat all his friends before paying customers. Got up and left after a half hour as no waiter even came to the table. Go anywhere else.
Get here after 7PM for free parking. Also, the place is BYOB.
THE BEST CUBAN FOOD AROUND W/ A GREAT ATMOSPHERE!
Very nice, relaxed atmosphere. Bring Your Own Bottle. try The Vieja Ropa
OVER-RATED got a table sat 20min not even a glance from one waiter..
Parking is a bitch, it gets CRAZY PACKED, But its worth it, food is slammin!!
Eat some foods here yo!!
the coconut rice is godly. also eat the island coconut shrimp and vaca fritas.
The tapas menu is amazing. It lets you order a little bit of everything
the ricky ricardo ribs are deeeelish! highly recommended
Ambiance is outstanding, food is good, prices are very low. Excellent time everytime.
Dates wrapped in bacon were slammin
Get the hazelnut infused goat cheese appetizer... amazing flavor! so many varieties of sangria too... first time here and already love it
mojito chicken is amazing! This place is BYOB so the drink list (mojitos and sangrais) DO NOT contain alcohol, so be sure to bring some wine or some coconut or pineapple rum for mojoitos.
Had a wonderful first time here. Great food and very loud, yet very exciting. Highly recommend.
Try the suckling pig - wonderfully prepared, tender & delicious.
Enjoy a night in Cuba for a change--order the goat cheese fritters and albondegas. The Vaca Frita is terrific--salty and crispy and the plantains are cooked just right. Highly recommended!
Great food try the red sangria with bacardi :)
Try the Armando's Passion - sweet and refreshing (via @Foodspotting)
Absolute worst service in Montclair. Waiters bump into you when passing by, they throw a container at you when you want something wrapped to go, and they just disappear. Luckily the food is awesome.
Be ready to wait an hour. Go not hungry. It's VERY fun, but very loud. Food isn't authentic but it's okay. BYOB.
Great food. Jerks for hosts
Bring a bottle of tequila and wine and you'll have a ball
Working my way down the tapas menu..my two favorites are the chicken lollipops and the sauteed shrimp with garlic sauce.
BYO beware. There is a liquor store nearby.
The lechon asado is to die for. Go somewhere else for dessert though.
Start off with the picadillo con tostones...you can't go wrong with the vaca frita as your main entree! Then end your meal with a cup of the cafe con leche and a slice of their tres leches!
Had lunch with a group of about 15. We were seated in the private room next to the stairs. The food was great, we brought our own vino for the sangrias. Wait staff was a bit slow but attentive.
It was my first time there. I did not know they had that many tables. The food was really good. I would come back. Was able to be seated right away around 6.15 on a Saturday.
Love the rabo encendido!!
They make coconut rice like no other!
EXCELLENT every single time! WELL worth the wait if you go after 7 pm.
This place is great!!!! if you love awful service!
They need a waiting room and the sangria wasn't impressive BUT the food, the ambiance and the service are SO AMAZING that the aforementioned are easily forgotten! Try the Pernil con Tostones! YUM!
The best Cuban Food ...Make sure to try the Ropa Vieja..yummm
Bacon wrapped dated and the naked paella are the beez kneez!!! Make sure you give them a try :)
Grab the instruments and take a pic lol makes for a great pic
I thought the service was great. Showed up late but we were seated quickly and our server was awesome... He even had a glass of sangria with us
Pure love!!! Cuban Pete's has the best staff, food, and decor. Escape the mundane life and go to Cuban Pete's and experience nirvana of all your senses.
It's BYOB !!! Hellooooooo what more do you need
Eat the garlic shrimp!
My favorite restaurant in NJ, hands down. I made a special trip from Colorado just for the Ropa Vieja and the Frita Cubana!
Great food! Try the white sangria!
Sit outside, it's beautiful!
Delicious Cuban food, atmosphere creates a little Havana feel.
The service is bad. The espresso is terrible as is the sangria. The vaca frita and carlitos way chicken is great!
One Of The Best Cuban Restaurants in NJ
