If you get in the train while it is still moving for a dadar originating train you might get a third seat or a second if you are lucky. The 1726 & 1800 virar trains are the most crowded.

Mother of all Mumbai railway stations. If you're crossing train lines, ride down one extra station. Parel & Elphinston are connected by a less crowded bridge.

1st class and 2nd class are the same in evening peaks hours except the smell of perspiration. Travel in 2nd class to get adequate space for standing in trains.

Be careful on the staircase of the main bridge. The stairs have metal plates on the edges which are quite slippery.
