Chef David Burke’s newest restaurant brings his creative and whimsical style to downtown New York with inventive reinterpretations of American classics.
Burger and fries are a delicious choice. If you get the burger - flip it over immediately. Otherwise the bottom of the English muffin will get all soggy :(
I disagree with all the tips about the pretzel crab cake. I was not impressed. Go with the duck meatballs.
Preztel Crab cakes, a must. Short Rib Cavetelli, phenomenal. Monkey Bread with Ice Cream outstanding. I'm a fatty the day after, bit I enjoyed my meal. Oh and cap the night w/a shot of absinthe.
please ignore those crab cakes everyone else is talking about. serious. instead: lamb chops, wild mushrooms, bacon mac & cheese.
Try the Butterscotch Panna Cotta - One of the best desserts I've had anywhere (via @Foodspotting)
Have the pretzel crab cake!
Order the Sweet Treats plate and you’ll get signature mini doughnuts and three mini ice cream sandwiches. The sandwich flavors change weekly, with combos such as popcorn ice cream and corn shortbread.
Bison tartare was great. Was told monkey bread is a must. And if you're nice the waiter will bring u a cheesecake lollipop :-)
Try the Scallops & Oxtail w/ quail egg & celery. For a fun yet edgy drink try the Jackalope.
Fourth of July Drinks 2013: Go to The Garden at David Burke and ask for the Freedom Punch
Nice Prie Fix. Dumpling duo + Salmon + Rock salt sundae with caramel popcorn and caramel?! Damn it feels good to be a gangsta.
Terrible place for veggies. Many pictures of about-to-be-killed animals in the walls. Cruelty and sarcasm on its highest level
60 Thompson concierge Paul recommends the wonderful appetizers that come in petite jars.
Must get the monkey bread for dessert. And the pressed prawns as an entree. Good stuff.
Probably the best meal I've had in NYC. Restaurant week menu rocks!!!
A great deal is their "Pancake Social" menu (weekend brunch) offers various pancakes dishes for $5! Their Bloody Mary with Bourbon is worth it.
restaurant week lunch is a great value. don't miss tuna tartare tacos. softshell crab BLT is impossible to eat without a mess, tasty. strawberry shortcake parfait has layers of confetti birthday cake!
delicious: lamb. tar tare tacos. drunken brownie dessert.
I absolutely love this place. It's great in NY and in Chicago. The 55 day dry aged porterhouse for two is a meat-gasm. Order it medium rare, and it order the beef fat jalapeno fries and asparagus!
Try the Swedish Mule cocktail - Karlsson's Gold Vodka with ginger beer, bitters, and lime juice!
Man..I love this place..Garden opening tonight for a few lucky people as the get geared up for summer. come on down, limited..I'll be there baby.

Sequana Pinot noir special for your Valentine!
Try the Red Velvet Sundae - with Whipped Cream and Hot Fudge (via @Foodspotting)
Try the Red Velvet Cheesecake - Nom (via @Foodspotting)
Eat the whole appetizer in one bite and you'll get the full flavor explosion. Consuming any other way would be unwise
amazing Thanksgiving meal. Both sophisticated, easy-going and good value for money
As a starter you must order the Pretzel Crab Cake. Layers of fresh crab meat form a delicious crab cake between thin lasagna like pretzel pieces
The Chicken and Waffles dish is ah-ma-zing! The service was phenomenal as well- great experience all around!
Try the Scallops And Pork Belly - Insane (via @Foodspotting)
Get the maple bacon/dates/peanut butter. Wow.
David Burke is the man. Everything is delicious. The beautiful photos are by Bill Milme.
the seared tuna was so-so, but the scallops were amazing!
Loved the ants on a log, pastrami salmon, and the Monkey Bread.
The mayor here is hot!!!
Monkey bread for 2 is really for 4+...but delicious and comes with a to go tin!
The Bitches Say: A-. Some of the dishes at David Burke's Kitchen—like the French toast and crab cake pretzel—were remarkable, while others were mediocre. Winner of the 2013 Best Hotel Brunch Award!
I appreciate that the food is farm to form but the breakfast is on par with a cheap diner.
Short rib and the pork chop are both great. The duck special and the foie gras potted duck were just okay. Octopus app is very good. The pecan pie with bourbon ice cream and the red velvet cake also👌
What a deception ! It doesn't worth 9,2 on 4sq ! Noisy Restaurant in a basement !? Crab cake is a joke ! Dry & not testy. Roasted chicken with Brussels ? Do it yourself and save 200$ !
Gluttony has met its match. So indulgent but utterly delicious. Great wait staff, lobster w/ lavender Brussel sprouts is delish. Monkey bread dessert is incredible but large serving - good for 4+.
Generous portions but the bread basket and appetizers are the best part of the meal - the pretzel crab cakes, lobster dumpling soup and burrata, asparagus and prosciutto are good; skip the lamb chops
Honey glazed salmon with quinoa cooked medium was really good!
I was thoroughly impressed. Short rib on the mac n cheese is one of the better dishes I have ever had. Biggest surprise? The whipped cream that came with the cake pop tree. Wow. Amazing.
Love the outdoor garden. Makes you feel like you're away on vacation.
