Come out the back entrance in the morning and buy your coffee from RoCo in Ruskin Square.
Busy during rush hour try and use other exits/entrances if you can.
I hate this place. It's the Mordor of transportation.
All that you want to forget about stations. Pass through and don't get off. Basic and surly for such a major stop on the southern lines.
You can get trains to Clapham and Victoria very regular from here. You can also catch the tram between New Addington and Wimbledon from here. AMT coffee is a great place to get coffee.
Good coffee shops on the station.
Super busy when trains are canceled here and there on rainy days.
Quite organised station.
There are no departure boards past the gates on the concourse. However if you go down to the platforms you'll find them.
The rear exit is more convenient for the Premier inn and Jury's inn
One of the most chaotic and less customer friendly stations in the UK
Ask people for help on the platform as the call button machine just keeps ringing and no one answers and make sure to stand bear zig zag lines as trains only stop there
Cool area to relax
Costa attached to the station, and Starbucks on platform 1 and 2 are great when you've got time to kill.
I feel sorry for anyone who lives in, or has to commute to/from, this grim excuse for civilisation.
Pure chaos 👎
An evil place.
Lovely Delice De France on platform 5...
WH Smith closes at least 30 minutes before *official* closing time - you've been warned!!
Watch out! Everyone is running for their train!
Where the trains are always late
The seating area normally smells bad. Deal with the cold and wait on the platform
AMT coffee always good. Friendly staff too. Can't be easy dealing with grumpy (for good reason, train operators are shite) commuters.
The view is depressing!
Quickest way to London Bridge is with the First Capital Connect to Bedford
Ignore anyone leaving tips that say "catch train to xxxxxx from Platform xxxxxx" arseholes
If you think the train is full here....wait until you get to Norwood Junction!
Try your best to get to this station @least 5mins b4 your train time!!!!
Burger king. Good but slow
AMT coffee shop the best on the station, avoid upper crust baguettes, they are not fresh.
Find the "fastest train to" monitor as its the most useful. Don't trust announcements!
Constant vigilance required: platform changes are frequent, last minute and often require running over 'don't run' signs. Plus staff are clueless/don't care
£5 note dispensing cash machines for the win! Take a right before the main exit.
£9 for two tins of stella and a mag
It has the starbucks
Delice de France likes to shut early. Should shut at 9pm, but can be seen closing its doors anytime from 8:30- with loads of food still left over!
London bridge leaves from platform 4
Use the mirrors in the platform tunnels to save yourself smashing into someone's face #win
Platform 4 for trains to Honor Oak Park, Forest Hill, etc...you can change to overground line at these stations...if you're headed for east London
Not good for freight trains!
Frequent fast trains to Clapham Junction!
Be prepared to queue if you're buying something from WH Smith. There is no fast payment facility for newspapers and you'll be delayed whilst they try and upsell giant Galaxy bars to other customers.
Best tea is Pumpkin cafe on Platform 1&2 and 5&6 - PG tips and it's a reasonable price for a station too.
Trains to South Croydon are always from Platform 6.
A very good and helpful Starbucks on platform 1
Very secure place, there's more police than staff here!!
If you have time to spare, nip over to the Porter and Sorter for a pint.
AMT coffee stall. The one place you can actually buy a coffee rather than americano or daily brew or some other equally shite name. Also, it's small medium and large rather than tall, grande etc!
Always use a licensed London taxi at ecs
