Eastern Market has been feeding Detroit since 1891. Public market hours are 7am-4pm every Saturday, but stores in the district are open throughout the week.

Be nice to the vendors! A smile and pleasant conversation goes a long way. Im more likely to give u free stuff because so many customers are rude a-holes.

6-block public market. Great selections of fruits, veggies, fresh-cut flowers, homemade jams etc. Go there every other Saturday. Fun place to walk through and is very close to the Farmer's Restaurant
They are opened on Tuesday too!!!
All this for the same price as one grocery store red pepper. Awe yeah.

You might find good deals if you come later. Sometimes the vendors have hot dates that they want to go home to and want to sell their produce at discounted rates.

Tuesday from 11 a.m til 7 p.m is really fun. Meet and greet. The stall have fresh vegetables and fruits.
